Input Slicer Causing Browser Tab Freeze in Public Links (Started April 24, 2026)

Hi Microsoft Fabric Community, Issue Summary Input slicers in public/Publish to Web links now freeze/block the browser tab when interacted with. This new problem began yesterday (April 24, 2026) after recent Service updates. Steps to Reproduce Create report with Input Slicer (Feb 2026 feature) on text/date field. Publish to web/public embed. Open link in Chrome/Edge new tab. Type/select in input slicer → tab freezes (unresponsive, high CPU). Environment Power BI Desktop: Works fine. Power BI Service/Public link: Fails (tab blocked). Browser: Chrome/Edge (latest), occurs consistently. Fix should be out in 3-4 days at the latest. In most cases, this does not freeze the UX, but clicking individual X icons or trying to type a second filter item is not allowed. The workaround is to click the Clear icon in the visual header. Translytical input slicers are not affected, only text slicers bound to a data field used as page filters are impacted.

I am reporting a issue in the Input Slicer visual performance specifically within the Power BI Service (Web). This issue does not occur in Power BI Desktop.  Cursor Jump: When typing a value into the input box, the cursor automatically jumps to position 0 (the front of the text) after a single character is entered. This prevents me from entering multiple value (FYI: accept multiple value is toggled on). Unable to Delete: Values entered into the slicer cannot be cleared or deleted using the "X" keys. Issue with new card visual - reference labels space mandatory for all cards

We were able to achieve this type of presentation with the new card visual while in preview (reference label only for certain sub cards, centered callout value in the other ones). Last november update messed up a whole report built with the preview version of the visual, displaying empty spaces for all the KPI without reference label data. We couldn't recreate initial visuals, neither with the preview version nor the general availability one.   ... View more

We have heard this feedback from a few sources, and are considering how to add this back. It was a "bug" that this could happen previously, as the spec called for consistency and alignment across all the measures within the same visual. Knowing that some of you liked this behavior, we want to bring it back, but it won't be super quick. Stay tuned.

Relationship Lines Missing in Model Viewer in Version 2.119.701.0

All the relationship lines are missing from the model view.  All graphical manipulation of the model fails.  Adding new tables/datasources fail.  A new version needs to be released immediately.  It appears that version 2.119.666.0 doesn't have that problem.  These versions are so new that they're not even documented on the Microsoft site.  😞   ... Trying to update Power BI App with the new experience

Hello,   Since changing my apps to the new app experience that came out on August 24th, 2022 I'm unable to update my apps. New card visual concern

In the old visual, when the text of the label becomes too long, it cuts it off.  Which is fine. The new one though... Plenty of space left, but doesn't show the first x-amount of characters that could be showed. Here, I made it show...   Do notice that if the title has spaces or dashes (-), it does show partially words, but only if the whole word fits. Underscores are not recognized as such. Whole datalakes are held together by fields using the underscore as space.  Regardless of underscores becoming included as something that can be shown in parts, why not keep it as it was so if you mess up your format, or someone else messes up, it still shows the first amount of characters?  ... Per the following thread: Re: DAX Info Functions Against Published Datasets - Microsoft Fabric Community   It seems that we're unable to execute any of the INFO() DAX functions when using the ExecuteQueries REST API on a published semantic model. Power BI Desktop freezes 10 times a day

Hi all,   I'll try to explain the issue I'm having.  Power BI runs fine, until a random moment. Perhapse I change something in a visual or a measure, but then all my visuals start to refresh and in 90% of the time they don't recover at all and Power BI simply freezes. Sometimes I even have to do a hard reboot. The changes I'm making are very small.   I sometimes I have the idea it has something to do with IntelliSense and/or Microsoft Edge Webview2. Yesterday I was typing a DAX syntax and by pressing tab, it took the suggested function. Every single time I did this, Power BI desktop frooze. Also, sometimes it generates multiple Webview2 processen (screenshot).    It's pretty much impossible to work at the moment. Using the most recent PBI December 2021 desktop update. According to my research, a similar issue has been reported internally, so stay tuned. ICM: 279388210

 

In the latest update of this ICM, the engineers have found the issue is related to the WebView2 browser crashing and are working to find the root cause of this issue.

 

I will update here once I get any information.

 

But if you want to get a solution for this kind of desktop problem based on your specific situation as soon as possible, I suggest you to open a support ticket to get the direct help from the technical support team of Microsoft.

Snowflake boolean columns no longer working in new PBI version 2.130.754.0

New Button Slicer Formatting Options in Service

UPDATE: Issue fixed with new json theme. However, @mattlee there is a problem with the button fill. The fill doesn't actually fill the whole of the last button and is a visual glitch. See the screenshot below. Any idea if this will be fixed?         This is a new issue in the service recently introduced. I have a new button slicer with the selected state of the callout values configured to have a different font colour. This works fine in Desktop but is ignored in the Service. A second issue related to conditional formatting rules for New Slicer (Preview) with May Desktop has been identified, we plan to QFE Desktop within a few days so you can continue to author new format rules for Button and List Slicer in the May release. Existing saved rules are fine. This issue is not related to custom themes. If you save a file with conditional format rules for New Button or List slicer, you may encounter a silent upgrader error, which will cause the formatting to be lost the next time you open the file. The Desktop QFE will fix this for May soon, but Edit/Save in the web will take longer to be patched.

SQL Connection - "0 - The certificate chain was issued by an authority that is not trusted."

Following update to "Version: 2.126.927.0 64-bit (February 2024)" I can now nolonger connect to a particular slq server.   Microsoft SQL: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 - The certificate chain was issued by an authority that is not trusted.)   This is not my server and it does not support encryption.  Until now I have been able to turn off encryption and have not had any SQL Certificate Chain errors.   I can still connect with the same settings via SSMS.  I don't think I can try things like trustcertificate in the connection string with PowerBI.   Has anyone a solution to this or any reports that this is a bug to be addressed would be much appreciated.   Thanks   Craig     ... Running a VM with 2 processors and 32 GB of RAM Windows Server 2016 standard 64-bit Version 1607 OS Build 14393.5501 Everytime I open Power BI Desktop I'm being promtped to re-enter my login credentials... This appears to have started on 2.117.894 which was found after some testing. This is incredibly frustrating and annoying as I need to enter my full e-mail/AD password (multiple times) and also authenticate via Ping ID every time I open Power BI desktop. Previous version did not have this issue and functioned as expected caching the credentials, allowing me to open a new Power BI desktop window without needing to re-authenticate every time. I have installed previous version of Power BI but am unable to open and .pbix file I edited in a more recent version... the following list is the versions tested to document when the issues started to occur: 2.115.663 - not re-prompted to login each time, user image shows up, pbix files do not load 2.116.622 - not re-promptedto login each time, user image shows up, pbix files do not load 2.116.996 - not re-prompted to login each time, user image shows up, pbix files do not load 2.117.894 and after - re-prompted for login each time, user image does not show up, pbix files load The "user image" is simply my avatar that is set on office365 for my user account within my company None of the labels made sense for this issue, but I was required to add one. ... Apply button is greyed out when adding a data source to the on-premise data gateway

I noticed when I published a report with an on-premise data source (SAP BW) along with cloud data sources (Sharepoint), the Apply button is greyed out in the gateway connection settings:   Again, this is only applicable to newly published datasets. For the existing ones, there are no errors, and I can refresh successfully. Like this one, it has actually the same setup, just published in a different workspace some time ago: I just experienced this yesterday.  Any of you are experiencing it now? Appreciate the responses! I have a PBIX file with ~30 tables and with multiple data tables and support tables. I've recently run into an issue when I add a NEW table to the report, it puts it in the top left corner and I'm unable to move it.
