Power BI is experiencing a problem with WebView2 running Out of memory. We have identified some of the top causes of this and have the details below. If that does not address your Out of memory problem, contact us at pbidesktopwebview2issues@service.microsoft.com Out of Memory cause: Custom visuals causing memory leak - If you are using any custom visuals and are running into Out of Memory crahses, please try removing the custom visuals to check if it resolves the issue. If it does, please reach out with the visual which was cauing the memory leak so we can address it. If you are not using any custom visuals and are still running into this, it could be due to having a lot of report pages and visuals per page. This causes the browser heap memory to exceed the 4GB limit and crash. This is sadly a limitation of chromium. Possible workaround Limit the number of visuals in the report. The recommendation is to split the report into smaller reports and using cross-drillthrough - Use cross-report drillthrough in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Docs.The cross-drillthrough feature carries through filters when using cross drill through.

I am stuck at this point when I click on the Refresh button. Looks like there is a problem in September 2021 update, I've downgraded to August and it's working fine.

Hello, Since changing my apps to the new app experience that came out on August 24th, 2022 I'm unable to update my apps. Just updating the data in existing reports work, however when I try to add a new report or user to the app, the updated fails on both premium and non-premium workspaces. Hi all, I'll try to explain the issue I'm having. Power BI runs fine, until a random moment. Perhapse I change something in a visual or a measure, but then all my visuals start to refresh and in 90% of the time they don't recover at all and Power BI simply freezes. Sometimes I even have to do a hard reboot. The changes I'm making are very small. I sometimes I have the idea it has something to do with IntelliSense and/or Microsoft Edge Webview2. Yesterday I was typing a DAX syntax and by pressing tab, it took the suggested function. Every single time I did this, Power BI desktop frooze. Also, sometimes it generates multiple Webview2 processen (screenshot). It's pretty much impossible to work at the moment. Using the most recent PBI December 2021 desktop update. Is there a fix for this?

This has just happened with the September 2019 release. Power BI Desktop looks fine on my small laptop screen. Move it across to my larger 2nd monitor and the font is blurry to the point of being unreadable. I need Power BI on the larger screen so I can see everything so at the moment, the September 2019 release is unuseable

When using the DAX function "RELATED" to add a new column from an Imported table to a DirectQuery table, I receive an error. This error does not occur if both tables are using DirectQuery. Column: SampleColumn = RELATED(ImportTable[Column]) Error: "The column 'ImportTable[Column]' either doesn't exist or doesn't have a relationship to any table available in the current context." Relationship: DirectQueryTable[SampleKey] (many) has a relationship with ImportTable[SampleKey] (one) Cardinality = Many to One (*:1) Cross filter direction = Both Make this relationship active = Checked Note: When creating the column using "RELATED" in the DirectQueryTable table, ImportTable shows up as a suggestion.

Ever since about 6am Eastern today, my dataset refreshes have been failing and the reports are just spinning - no errors, just spinning like it's trying to load the data.

After the last Power BI Desktop Update - 2.97.801.0 64-bit (September 2021) - when I click Refresh Query, I see all my queries listed as "Evaluating..." and that's all! The data actually does refresh in time, but I don't see the other phases like connecting, getting data, and the number of rows downloaded as before.

All the relationship lines are missing from the model view. All graphical manipulation of the model fails. Adding new tables/datasources fail. A new version needs to be released immediately. It appears that version 2.119.666.0 doesn't have that problem. These versions are so new that they're not even documented on the Microsoft site. 😞

Hi, , I am having issues with a dataflow today. I have made some changes to it earlier today and since then it is not returning any entity. During the preview, it is showing correct data but no data is shown when I connect it through Power BI Desktop. The Power BI Desktop query is not showing any entity. This may be linked to the following issues already on the Power BI Support Page: Customers creating a new Dataflow from the Power BI service will see the default setting "Allow combining data from multiple sources" set to true instead of false. As a workaround, customers can uncheck the setting. Engineers are working on a fix and expect it to be deployed by end-of-day 11/22/2019. Thanks Nishant

I am using the free, out-of-the-box ESRI ArcGIS map visual. I built this visual last year and had no trouble., so this isnt an RTFM situation. I opened the PBIX and the visual looks like it reset to defaults. Ok, stuff happens so I reconfigured it. Well, after saving and going back to the page with the visual, the defaults appear again. So, now, I have to publish the report (other changes were made) with an ESRI map that looks different because I cant preserve my changes. I'm going to guess I am the only person on the planet seeing this issue, but I'd figure I would reach out take a shot. TIA Power BI Frustration Level: HIGH

I have noticed that the preview table is not scrolling to the top when it is filtered by using another visual. the table is refreshed and i can see the scroll bar getting smaller as it fetches the table but it does not seem to visualize it at the top of the list. I have about 700 entries in the table coming from a live tabular model connection. Has anyone else noticed this? Thank you

Last week the report was working fine, now I have to hit reset to default to get it to appear, otherwise the entire report page is blank.

I noticed when I published a report with an on-premise data source (SAP BW) along with cloud data sources (Sharepoint), the Apply button is greyed out in the gateway connection settings: Again, this is only applicable to newly published datasets. For the existing ones, there are no errors, and I can refresh successfully. Like this one, it has actually the same setup, just published in a different workspace some time ago: I just experienced this yesterday. Any of you are experiencing it now? Appreciate the responses! EDITED-- Check out the comments for the workaround Microsoft has also posted the issue on the Power BI Support page. Expect the fix to be on 24th of January

Hi All, None of Power BI reports are loading, it just shows blank page for all users. Power BI Service status page shows all green though. Anyone else facing this issue today? Its a hue impact to our businesss users as they are not able to get their daily reports. Is there anyway to escalate this issue to Power BI support team, so it gets required attention. For last one month the service has not been stable, either issue with scheduled refresh/report loading.etc.,

There appears to be a bug when pinning visuals to dashboards. It seems to work for table/matrix visuals, but no for any other type (the visuals in the gif are standard PBI visuals)

Running a VM with 2 processors and 32 GB of RAM Windows Server 2016 standard 64-bit Version 1607 OS Build 14393.5501 Everytime I open Power BI Desktop I'm being promtped to re-enter my login credentials... This appears to have started on 2.117.894 which was found after some testing. This is incredibly frustrating and annoying as I need to enter my full e-mail/AD password (multiple times) and also authenticate via Ping ID every time I open Power BI desktop. Previous version did not have this issue and functioned as expected caching the credentials, allowing me to open a new Power BI desktop window without needing to re-authenticate every time. I have installed previous version of Power BI but am unable to open and .pbix file I edited in a more recent version... the following list is the versions tested to document when the issues started to occur: 2.115.663 - not re-prompted to login each time, user image shows up, pbix files do not load 2.116.622 - not re-promptedto login each time, user image shows up, pbix files do not load 2.116.996 - not re-prompted to login each time, user image shows up, pbix files do not load 2.117.894 and after - re-prompted for login each time, user image does not show up, pbix files load The "user image" is simply my avatar that is set on office365 for my user account within my company None of the labels made sense for this issue, but I was required to add one.
