My name is Debbie Edwards, and I am passionate about transforming data into meaningful insights that drive better decision-making. With over 23 years of experience in Data, Business Intelligence, and Analytics, I have built my career around helping organisations unlock the full value of their data through innovative solutions and modern technologies. Throughout my career, I have successfully delivered a wide range of projects across public and private sector organisations, including NHS data migrations, Derbyshire Disabilities reporting, Education and Special Educational Needs (SEND) analytics, Social Care Complaints dashboards. Land Registry and Banking. These projects have enabled organisations to gain deeper insights into their operations and make more informed strategic decisions. My current focus is on Microsoft Fabric, where I design and build end-to-end data platforms using modern Data Engineering practices. I have extensive experience developing complete data solutions, from data ingestion through to reporting and analytics, using technologies such as: • Microsoft Fabric • Fabric Data Factory Pipelines • Lakehouses and the Medallion Architecture • Fabric Notebooks and Spark • Real-Time Intelligence (Event Streams and Streaming Data) • Data Warehousing • Power BI • Azure Data Services I particularly enjoy creating scalable cloud-based solutions that bring together multiple data sources, automate complex processes, and deliver trusted data products to business users. Whether it's batch processing, real-time analytics, data integration, or reporting, I enjoy solving challenging data problems and building solutions that make a genuine impact. During my transition from traditional on-premises Microsoft Business Intelligence technologies to cloud platforms, I discovered a whole new world of possibilities. This journey has allowed me to develop solutions across a variety of industries, including utilities, local government, healthcare, and education, while embracing the latest innovations in Microsoft's data ecosystem. Alongside my technical work, I have delivered presentations and workshops on Power BI and modern data technologies for Sheffield university, local councils, the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership, the East Midlands Chamber, and other professional groups. I strongly believe that knowledge sharing is an essential part of professional growth and enjoy helping others develop their skills in data and analytics. One thing that has remained constant throughout my career is my belief that there is always something new to learn.
