Hello, Starting today, Power BI Desktop freezes every time I try to save.  This happend to me and at least one other colleague. The freezing does not prevent the saving itself so far, but I need to restart Power BI Desktop after each time I save my Report.   Has anyone had a similar issue so far or any suggestion to resolve it? ... I have been troubleshooting this for a week now.  When launching BI either by running the BI Desktop application or by trying to open an existing datamodel I get the following error.   Prior to the error BI hard locked and could not recover. Waited for 45 minutes and had to kill the process to get it to shutdown. Afterwards this started to happen.    AS Process PID=XXXXXX Has exited with ExitCode = 0   This dialog appears twice in succession then kills the app.       NOTE: This has also happened on one of our IT administrators sytems where BI had NOT had the proccess killed, just tried to launch the application and seeing the same issue. This is not enterprise wide, and has only happened a few machines, and does not appear to be related to current local user profile.     Troubleshooting performed: Uninstalled and reinstalled BI Two versions (the last version and the one released 06-05-2025) hard restart between uninstall and reinstall Uninstalled and reinstalled the .net framework hard restart between uninstall and reinstall Verified all Windows updates are current Deleted all folders and files I could find related to the BI isntall Deleted all registry keys related to BI Install Created a new user profile and installed to the new profile, same issue created a MS Sandbox and installed there, different issue (Faield to authenticate). Yes the sandbox had internet access and firewall disabled.  Checked System Event logs: no info Ran DISM & SFC check and no issues found. Since today we can't connect to our Azure Databricks instances through PBI Desktop. It seems like there is an issue with the ODBC driver.   Error message: "DataSource.MissingClientLibrary: The 'Driver' property with the value '{Simba Spark ODBC Driver}' does not match an installed ODBC driver."   Is this a Power BI issue? Hi all   I have just come across what I think is a bug in the relationships view of PBI Desktop.    When I drag the primary key from one table to the key field of another table to establish a relationship (which has always worked) I get the standard popup for 'New Relationship'. However on both tables it says 'A preview of this table isn't available' which is strange as the tables are pretty simple. there is no message as to why   When i set the settings for the relationship, i tick the 'Make this relationship active' button and it doesn't provide any feedback as to it being unsuccessful, then I press 'Save'. I get the 'Working on it' and spinning wheel, but nothing happens, the relationship does not establish.   What i realised is there is in fact ambiguous relationships as a result, so that relationship I was trying to make can't work, once I removed those other relationships, I was able to successfully establish the intended new relationship. However, troubleshooting this took me an extra bit of time to work out, where as previously PBI told me that immediately.   In short - it seems there is no live relationship checking prior to saving the relationship. ... I have created a brand new, very simple data model with a single table "Sales Invoices". This table is sourced from the business central connector. *I experienced this issue in a much larger model, but have created a new one to ensure the issue is not caused by anything else in the model.   If I then create a table visual and place the quantity field, it will give me a summary of the quantity for the whole table. Everything looks good.  If I add a filter (to any level, visual/page/report) on the posting date, very strange things start happening. With basic filtering, I can select any number of dates that exist in the table, and the table visual will correctly sum the quantity for those dates and display it. If I change the filter to advanced, and "is" some date that I know data exists (3 feb 2025) I get       but, if I add "is on or before" any date in the future (thereby not filtering anything) and include the same criteria as above as an "and" in the filter, it works.     I have been trying to figure it out for hours and am having no luck. I have already  - Created a new data model and replicated the issue  - uninstalled and reinstalled powerbi desktop  - adjusted the query to explicitly set the posting date field to date (it was already coming across as a date field)  - checked all locale settings   I am running PowerBI on a Parallels VM, but I have never had a problem with this for years. ... Hello, Seems facing issue with Power BI Desktop latest version Aug 2024, as i am not able to open any report and getting the below error.  encounter the same thing in its entirety. All the relationship lines are missing from the model view.  All graphical manipulation of the model fails.  Adding new tables/datasources fail.  A new version needs to be released immediately.  It appears that version 2.119.666.0 doesn't have that problem.  These versions are so new that they're not even documented on the Microsoft site.  😞   ... I encountered a scenario in Power BI where Row-Level Security (RLS) can be bypassed due to a combination of referential integrity (RI) violations, allowing unauthorized access to data. This issue arises in specific RLS setups where: The RLS table filters data using ProductID and UPN (email/user). The relationship model introduces a bridge table, and security is applied through relationships with Apply security filter in both directions enabled. There is incomplete referential integrity (i.e., not all ProductIDs exist in all tables involved). Following update to "Version: 2.126.927.0 64-bit (February 2024)" I can now nolonger connect to a particular slq server.   Microsoft SQL: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 - The certificate chain was issued by an authority that is not trusted.)   This is not my server and it does not support encryption.  Until now I have been able to turn off encryption and have not had any SQL Certificate Chain errors.   I can still connect with the same settings via SSMS.  I don't think I can try things like trustcertificate in the connection string with PowerBI.   Has anyone a solution to this or any reports that this is a bug to be addressed would be much appreciated.   Thanks   Craig     ... I'm struggling to be able to work efficiently with Dataflows as I am experiencing excessive times to 'validate' queries after pressing the 'Save & Close' button. For entities with even a minimal amount of transformation (eg. simply changing some column data types) I've experienced wait times of over 3 hours to simply save the query to exit out back to the main entity menu/view. Should things be taking this long for an output schema validation process, regardless of the size of the underlying table data? Is this an issue being experienced by others as well?
