If you download the pbix file for a report from Power BI online where the Dataset name does not perfectly match the Report name, then republish that Report (with changes or not), the report doesn't use the existing dataset name, instead defaulting to a dataset name that is the report name, then publishes the dataset + report as a whole new report.  This makes trying to manage and work with datasets extremely onerous.  I would think expected behavior would be when a pbix file is downloaded, publishing it with the same report name would automatically recognize the existing dataset and overwrite it as well. ... I set up row level security by business unit and shared it to a business unit leader. When he went in it looked right, but then he clicked on a bar that consequently filtered the other visuals. Instead of showing the filtered view for his org it expanded the other charts to show for groups he does not have access to. it appeared to only do this for some bars(the most recent month in this case.   I tested in "view as role" and everything was working on my desktop version. I have a few dashboards in my account.   First I access the e-mail list of the dashboard called 'Opioid by Piostcode' and it showed the following. It is correct.       Then I highlighted the dahhbosrd 'test' and chect the 'share', it gave me the same list and the same dashboard link as well. However, I didn't share this dashboard with anyone else actually.       Finally I refreshed my browser, and this time I got the correct list, i.e., only myself, the owner.         It is really annoying that you have to remember to refresh the browser before check the list. When scheduling or refreshing online, auth is not working.  It all works on the desktop okay, I can refresh everything.  However, on transferring to online, it always fails with incorrect credentials.  This happened ages ago, like 6 months ago, and it seemed to get fixed but for the last few months it's not working.   I've tried 1.  Re publish reports - failed. 2.  Creating a small test report with 1 auth credential - failed. 3.  Different auth credentials - failed.   When I enter in the credentials, striaght away, as I go back in, it's back to anonymous.  I've tried just leaving and scheduling, I just get an invalid credential (The credentials provided for the OData source are invalid)   Any help, much appreciated. ... Hi, I tried to publish a report from PowerBI desktop and It returned an error "Remote Server returned an error :(404) Not found. Issue is that "左右逆方向" in Japanese does not mean separate by 3 color in Treemap visual - Data Color - "Diverging".   "Diverging" - On mean Treemap visuals Data colors separating 3 colors instead of 2 colors. Hello,   I have created a Workspace called "Power BI - Production" where I publish dashboards I create from Power BI Desktop. This workspace has only three members and I am an Admin not only for this workspace but for Power BI in general for my company.   I created 3 dashboard named D1,D2,D3 by pinning reports. I then clicked on share option on D1 and added emailids of User 1, User 2 and User 3 to be shared. Below things happened:   1. All got access on D1 2. When I clcked on share option of D2, and went to "Access", I could see all the Users here itself.   I am not sure, why sharing one dashboard adds the same list of users to another dashbaord's sharing list. All the dashboards are under the same workspace and none of the users are the member of this workspace.   Please help as wrong dashboards are being shared with different people. When a user creates a copy of a report that has an embedded custom visual timeline, it does not always get enabled in the copied report.   That is, if the user does not initially open the content pack report before opening the copied report, the visual remains empty and no filter is applied.  However, if the user opens the content pack report with the visualization first, then they can open their copy of the report and  the custom visual displays and works correctly.   Is there somethng I can do to ensure that these copied reports open with the custom visual display without having to open the content pack version of the report first? ...
