Hello I am having an issue pinning certain visuals to a dashboard. The pin icon is greyed out with the hover-over 'Read-Only Content Can't be Pinned' for visuals from reports which are connected to our Data models. I do not get this same issue when pinning visuals from reports which are connected to SQL queries or CSVs that I have prepared myself. The Data models are stored in a separate Datasets workspace, which I am an admin of. A colleague of mine who has the exact same access as myself on the Power BI Service, is able to pin visuals with no issue I have tried logging in / out again, deleting reports and re-uploading them, deleting the dashboard and recreating it, switching browsers and clearing cache. I have full access to the workspaces I am working in, and like I already mentioned, our admins have reassured me that in theory I should have the ability to pin these visuals We have trawled through the previous posts here and cannot find anyone with the exact same issue Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi For some reason 1 user out of 12 gets this message when he tries to open BI this was working fine up to last week . Does anyone have an idea of what to do to correct this problem.

Now, if you expand a table column, types of an inner table are lost. I.e. all the expanded columns from the inner table, appeared in the outer table after expantion, are of type any, regardless of the types of columns of the inner table. All the types of the inner table should be transferred to columns of the outer table after expantion.

Dear Microsoft, The error message "Current session is no longer valid due to structural changes in the database" is raised in case a client connection (PowerBI, Excel) is using a so-called perspective instead of the default "Model" and a "Full Process" of a tabular table/partition is in progress. We are using 'SQL Server 2017 CU12' . Do you know whether this issue is fixed in SQL Server 2017 CU13? If not, do you need some other information to get this issue fixed in another CU? I think this bug/error is simular as the issue as mentioned in topic https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Report-Server/Error-Current-session-is-no-longer-valid-due-to-structural/m-p/504509#M7601 The company doesn't want to downgrade to 'SQL Server 2017 CU3'; in this version/CU the error isn't raised according to previous mentioned topic. Hi, I'm consistently getting an error trying to add an AAD Group to a V2 workspace using the AddUserAsAdmin API. Adding a single user via its email address works fine. Adding a group interatively in the service works fine. However, trying to perform the same operation using the API does generate this error: { {"error":{"code":"ADGraphEntityOperationFailed","pbi.error":{"code":"ADGraphEntityOperationFailed","parameters":{},"details":[]}}} } I have tried this on two different tenants, with the same result in both cases. I noticed an issue with the drill down feature in the Power BI Service. It is not applying existing filters (in cross-filtering in charts) when drilling down. I have tested this in different workspaces, with different reports and datasets, and the issue is consistent. I found the same issue was posted back in 2016 and it seemed to have been a systemic issue. a couple months ago and this week i got a strange bug on Power BI service with the data refresh. We cannot convert the value "[Binary]" to type Binary. Table: Query1 it took me a long time to see what was going on. this error only occur on power bi service. on power bi Desktop everything works fine. i end up with delete step by step in power query to reproduce the error. this way i found out that when i delete the merge from the table the refresh works fine. there was something strange with the merge function in power query. i reproduce it in a separate file, quick and dirty style, to test it and there the merge works fine. step 2 was to complete rebuild the table exactly like the original and it got the same error. what is going on: i used a 3 merge layer. table 1 is merged with table 2. and then i merge table 2 with table 3 (query1). and this cause the error. when i remove the first merge (table 1 to table 2) the refresh in power bi service works again. i have no idea what to do about it other than works around it. but i am happy to know what the limit are. source: query1 - sharepoint folder (excels) table 1 and 2 - Sharepoint lists.

I am an admin on LinkedIn Sales Navigator. If I select a bookmark and make some changes in report and then try to update the same bookmark, its doesn't work. I'm using Dec 2018 version... anyone figure it out? it just doesn't apply the change. I'm hidding an element and then I hit update bookmark and when I change to another bookmark to test, and click back, the element is not getting hidden. any idea?

Steps to reproduce : I hide the selected tab in my report. I keep focus on the hidden tab content. I save and publish my Power BI report. I open my report in https://app.powerbi.com/ Issue : Hidden tab isn't visible in tab list but it's content appears when opening the Dashboard for the first time. Suggested : Once we have selected another tab, it isn't possible anymore to access the hidden tab content anymore. Maybe one solution could be automatically focus a visible tab.

One of my datasets uses SAP HANA as one of the data sources, and I can't refresh the dataset online (Power BI service) since yesterday. Neither manual nor scheduled refresh works. Before anyone tells me I may have a problem with installed credentials, I'd like to say that the same SAP HANA query does work in a dataflow, which uses the same gateway. It also works in Power BI Desktop on the same machine. Therefore, it appears to be an issue with Power BI service dataset. Connecting to Snowflake using built-in Snowflake connector (v2.23.3). When adding a table that includes a column of TIME(9) datatype and then dragging it to the canvas to use as a table, the below error appears. Confirmed running directly against Snowflake that the values being passed in are invalid for the TIMESTAMPDIFF() function (minute, TIMESTAMP, TIME) to be able to perform the calculation. Previewing the data works fine, but it seems all of the additional "magic" it's doing isn't well formed. Hi There, Currently we are using the January 2021 PBI RS native Microsoft slicer using the hierarchy functionality (adding multiple columns as layers). In the process have also turned on the "Search" capability. When using the search option, it narrows down the selection in any level of the hierarchy. Example: Searching for the word "Ford" would look at both the Vehicle and Brand column as pictured below. It then narrows down the selection to only showing items with "Ford". Now, if there are many different versions of the word Ford the list starts to become large. You then think that when selecting the level above it > Cars, as a fast route instead of selecting each individual version of Ford, you would only get a count with what you searched for originally. That is not the case. You are actually getting that level that you clicked on, count of Cars regardless of the brand (in this example 6 instead of desired 3). Ideally if you are using a search option and only seeing results for that lowest level, you would want a way to quickly select those options without having to individually click on them. Has anyone else notice PowerBI Pro is extremely slow over the last week 12/10/18 to present day? We have been getting the following messages off and on. Reports sometimes run okay and other times they fail and it seem to be the reliability (lack) of the MS service. If we run via the PowerBI Pro Desktop things run much faster and don't fail. Over a month ago, we didn't have the issue, but it's getting worse as the days/weeks go by to the point it's unusable. So far MS support does not seem to do anything and claim "We regret to agree to your concern. However, we try our best to provide our best to our users. We apologize for the inconvenience caused due to the product limitation or product not working as per your expectation. I totally agree with you and all of your concerns and they are completely valid. Our Product team pushes improvements and features on weekly basis. These improvements are planned well in advance. But there are some of the improvements which will have lot of dependencies due to which it takes long time and sometimes it becomes extremely hard for us to define an ETA even though we have a road map of improving the feature. We hope you understand the complexity here. Our focus is always on improving customer experience and giving what customer is looking for sooner or later." It is currently not possible for me to refresh reports on the report service. The error i'm getting is: The command has been canceled.. The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface. few info: * This started on Saturday 1st december 2018 * Refresh works fine on desktop app * It only affects report with incremental refresh ON * I tried to rename the report and reupload but same error occurs * When I disable the incremental refresh, report service works fine (but unacceptable for production) Can you help. This is affecting the reports I have in prodcution and it is pretty urgent for me to fix.

Trying to add a URL to a field in a table to conditionally format it as a hyperlink, however - when the modal pops up for me to select the field that the link will be based on, the 'Based on field' dropdown is highlighted in red and won't let me select the field containing the URL or any ofther field for that matter. the formula for the URL field is: URL = "https://xxx.com/#/app/item/" & [Id]
