There is a bug with App tiles, App cannot be accessed. After refresh it works again, but this is not desired state. Apps tiles are not working

If a user (with build access) goes to Create then pick a published semantic model, there are some tables/fields that have been purposefully hidden in the model in Power Bi desktop which the user does not see. However, if the same user goes to OneLake data hub > selects Explore this data on the same semantic model (or accesses via workspace or report in app), those same tables/fields are visible. We believe they should be hidden through-out Explore as well.

None of the dataflows in my organization are showing up in the dataflow connector within Power BI Desktop. I have refreshed dataflows as well as cleared and reestablished my Dataflow data source permissions. I am not the only one having this issue. (See comments under the April 2021 update blog.)

Visual Level Filters are always displayed on the new filter experience tab after publishing to web, even though the filters are set to hidden in Power BI Desktop. Power BI Service point of view: Power BI Desktop point of view: Update (2019-04-10): This bug still persists with the April Power BI Destktop Update. Update (2019-05-16): It is possible to hide visual level filters now, but visual level filters are displayed by default which can get really tedious when having to hide them every time we add a new column to a table (f.e.). Would it be possible to have them be hidden by default like it was up to this point?

Does anyone facing issues with the Power-BI Service? From the last 30 mins none of my reports are working. I checked my reports on 3 different capacities and all the reports are having the same behaviour.

Hi, I have created a simple measure to dynamically update a report heading (I want it to display the client name when a single client is selected, but show as 'All Suppliers' when no selection has been made): Report Title = if(HASONEVALUE('DIM Client'[Name]),values('DIM Client'[Name]),"All Suppliers") However, when I attempt to add this value to a text box in Power BI desktop, it does not recognise the measure. I have tried checking the QA option suggested in another post, but this doesn't work. This issue is only occurring on this .pbix file, but I am not able to share the file due to the sensitive client data within it. Any suggestions?

I have multiple reports with subscriptions and they work just fine, until recently. All of our reports use a Data Model and that is working fine, the data only takes a few minutes to load in the report. When I set up a subscription for two separate pages in the same report, I get the PNG image just fine for one, but not the other. It just shows an X with the text "This visual was not exported due to a timeout." I cannot find anyone else who has solved this issue and there are not any settings that I can find that will extend the timeout in the datasource or subscription settings.

We have multiple Embedded reports using the Azure Maps visualization. Sometime last week, these visuals stopped displaying the map properly and we appear to be getting a 403 status for the azureMapToken. The visual itself does not display an error, rather it displays as if the map is there but invisible. You can see the hand icon when hovering over the visual and the user is able to right click > show as table.

I have a short drop-down slicer on one of my report pages that has 3 items. On desktop, when I click the drop-down I see all options upon first click, just like so: However, when I publish the report, all users, myself included, only see a single item in the drop-down when the slicer is clicked the first time (see pic below). When a user clicks on the slicer the second time (and any time thereafter), they see the "full" dropdown and all three items like it appears on desktop. This is confusing to users as its not obvious that there are additional options and the scroll bar only appears if you hover over the scroll area. This is a single-select slicer that is on the topmost layer of the report page and isn't being covered by any other item. This behavior can be seen in every report slicer that has a "small" amount of items (generally <5) -- a user must click the drowpdown, exit, then re-click the slicer dropdown in order to see all the items when viewing the report in the web browser. Again, every user, regardless of access level or web browser, sees this same behavior. And its on every report that has slicer with a small amount of items, its not limited to this single report example. If it helps any, I'm on the Power BI Premium service and the desktop version I'm using is Version: 2.92.1067.0 64-bit (April 2021)

As of yesterday, External pro licesnse users have lost access to a group they are guest members of. They have lost access to all reports and cannot access them even when using a direct link and the 'share' function within PowerBi Service. This has been reproduced on three different accounts.

I am all of a sudden getting an error on all of my reports connected to an external db using Windows creds. to login. This just started occuring 2 days ago and we have yet to resolve. Error reads: Microsoft SQL: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the pre-login handshake. (provider: HTTP Provider, error: 0 - ) Any Help would be so greatly appreciated.

Hello, Having downloaded the latest version of Power BI desktop (Version: 2.104.702.0 64-bit (April 2022)), we are now encountering an "A cyclic reference was encountered during evaluation" exception when refreshing the data from a MySQL database: We've traced the issue to the use of a Parameter named `Schema` in the Power Query as follows: let Source = MySQL.Database(Server, Database, [ReturnSingleDatabase=true]), <query name> = Source{[Schema=Schema,Item="<table name>"]}[Data] in <query name> A refresh of the data preview in the Power Query Editor works without any issues, it is only when we attempt to reload the data in the Power BI report that the exception is generated. The issue is with the following specific snippet in the query: Schema=Schema The solution / workaround is to rename the Parameter to something other than "Schema". For example, the reload works as it did before if we change the query to use a new Parameter called "SourceSchema": let Source = MySQL.Database(Server, Database, [ReturnSingleDatabase=true]), <query name> = Source{[Schema=SourceSchema,Item="<table name>"]}[Data] in <query name> Whilst the use of a Parameter name which collides with a Power Query attribute name isn't a good principal to adopt, the concern is that this code has been working for months and is only generating an exception with the new version of Power BI Desktop. The concern is that other users may have adopted this convention in their own Power BI reports and will therefore encoutner the same issue where: The source of the problem is not straightforward to isolate; Issues with the use of a Parameter called "Schema" in this context is not immediately apparent in the the Power Query Editor where data preview refresh works without any issues. It only surfaces when you reload / refresh the data in the Power BI report itself; There is a risk that this behaviour could propagate into the Power BI Service where report refreshes could being to fail. This would create a significant operaitonal issue where Power BI reports are being used in production.

I have several reports (published to Power BI Service) in which I'm using bookmark navigator panels. Unfortunatelly it seems that there is a bug resulting in a wrong button being highlighted after re-opening report. When a user closes and then re-enters the same report - all the visuals and slicers should be in the same state as last time when the user closed report. It works for all th visuals and slicer, but bookmark navigator resets and is showing wrong state (not corresponding with the state of visuals/slicers). Below are the examples State of the report when closing (both chart and corresponding button show Price per Item) Report state when closing report State of the report after re-opening: (chart still showing 'Price per Item', but highlighted button is 'Price per KG') Report state after re-opening It causes a lot of confusion for the users. Can this be fixed ?

Hi all, We have an issue where once there is a value selected in a date picker, you can't select another one. If there is a value in the date picker you also can't select a different month or year, the picker just disappears. Have tested this in Chrome and Edge as well as in two seperate tenants. 1) To recreate this issue, deploy any paginated report into the PBI Service with a date/time picker 2) Select a date 3) Select another date (the picker will disappear and date will not change) If you remove the date text, the picker will start working again. This was working 2 weeks ago. Cheers, Christian

We have lots of reports that use Line Charts with two Constant Lines to mark the "Good" (97) and "Acceptable" (93) levels. Starting today this charts are not displaying properly in the Power BI Service (in Desktop they look fine). The charts are only displaying the range between the two constant lines (93-97). Any values that fall outside this range can't be seen. The Y-axis Start and End are set to Auto. This is happening with reports that updated today as well as with reports that have not been updated recently and that used to display properly. Republishing the reports has not helped.

Since yesterday 12/15/22, a report that was working for several weeks in Power BI service will no longer render. It continues to work fine and refresh fine in Power BI Desktop. The report shows the following error in PBI Service: Further, when attempting to connect to the dataset as a data source in a new .pbix file, the following error code was rendered: After troubleshooting we determined it was the presence of a calculation group in the model that caused the error. When removing the calculation group, the report renders in Power BI Service. When it's added, the error message appears. Oddly, when viewing in Edit mode, you'll see that the visuals still render (you can see the visual header tooltips) but there are no tables present in the model. Again, this report works absolutely fine in Power BI desktop. Only an issue when published. The calculation group has one calc item that is used as a page filter to format some measures based on the format string stored in a column. Removing the page filter, changing the format string DAX logic, modifying the calculation item, etc. does not make any difference. The only way to have the report render is to delete the calculation group entirely. I also attempted to recreate the model in another report in case the .pbix file was corrupted, and the same error occurred in Power BI service. Please assist, thank you!

Hello, Parameters are responsive in Report Builder preview, width gets adjusted based one the maximum length of the text values. But it is not the case in Power BI service. It doesn't show the full-text value. I tried adjusting the page size, no luck.

Hi, Within the Power BI service, we are no longer able to select a visual, right-click on a measure in the values well, and use the option "Rename for this visual". It no longer works. Tested on Chrome (Version 106.0.5249.103) & Edge (Version 106.0.1370.37). Workaround for now - Double-click the measure or field used in the visual you want to rename
