Test as role "not supported" message for composite model

I have report which uses a composite data model, with a mix between DirectQuery to other Power BI datasets and some imported tables from SQL Server. The model also uses calculation groups, allthough I do not think this is related to the issue.

The data model also has RLS, and I can test this in desktop and it works as intended.

However, when I publish the report to the service and I want to "test as role", I get the following error message.

rls2.PNGrls1.PNG

Is this a bug, or is "test as role" really not supported for a composite model?

We are facing the same issue. This is something that is very important to fix. It affects the work of developers.

It's just unfortunate because this is something that used to work before. But I believe the recent updates have caused this to no longer work.

Yeah this is really important for this to work.

Same issue here.

Same issue here, please work on a fix, as we have mutiple reports connecting to the same model via live connection, so it's critical for us to test, especially we only have  a single model.  This was working before the I added a direct query to another data model within the power bi workspace, now I can no longer test and verify the RLS.

My reports, which used to work, are now inaccessible. As a workspace admin, I need the 'As Role' function to ensure report consistency.

Same here.   I need to be able to test a role as another user.
