I'm still getting this issue. Why is this still happening years after the original post. As per other commenters, just get a black screen saying 'There's a problem with WebView2' and to get in touch. Why is this the only way I can bring this to you? This has been the same response from microsoft for too long.

I am getting the same error message today when trying to refresh a desktop report. I clicked the Refresh icon on a report that previously refreshed successfully, and got a (not responding) message in the title bar of the Power BI Desktop window I had open. When I tried to wait it out, some minutes later the report contents disappeared the window turned blank grey, and in the middle of the screen came a popup that says "There's a problem with WebView2. Please report the issue to the Power BI Community so we can help you resolve it".

I am having several issues with WebView2 I have reinstalled WebView2 as described on https://angolodiwindows.com/2025/02/come-reinstallare-webview-2-ms-edge/ I am not able to publish my reports even though both Windows, Edge and PowerBI are up to date. Would you please suggest some other possible fix?

Dear Microsoft,

Please create a version of Power Bi that will consistently work for longer than a few months.

Seeing this error message when attempting to export reports to a pdf file. I am running the latest version of Power Bi (November 2025) in Parallels Desktop on a MacBook Pro M1.

"There's a problem with WebView2"

"Please report the issue to the Power Bi Community so we can help you resolve it"

Power Bi has been in production for almost 10 years. Why is reporting the code bug to the Power Bi Community our only recourse?

Please fix this Microsoft, and before the next monthly release!!!!

Sincerely,

Steve G.

I face most times this issues when validating new code in Advanced Editor in Power Query or when trying to refresh Schema and Data in the GUI. The model is certainly have with multiple Fact Tables, some containing tens of thousands of rows - but am I wrong expecting that PowerBI should be able to handle that ? I'm not sure what kind of useful info I could provide to support the team working on this problem, in any case I'm running an update version on my professional account. Have a nice day

I thought I left a comment but can't see it, so here I go again and sorry if it ends up in a double. I have this issue both when validating major code updates in the Advanced Editor in Power Query , or when refreshing schema and data in the GUI. All get stuck and although I understand that my model is heavy with a number of Fact Tables of tens of thousands of lines and big dimension tables too (HR Data Base), I would expect PowerBI to handle this? I'm not sure what useful info I could givem in any case I'm using an updated version on my professional laptop / account Giuliano

I have 2 basic visuals and 8 queries, and I keep getting this silly message and the page dies, 4 times now ... what is going on ... this is just such a dumb message ... oh we have fallen over ... bye ! All the queries run, the visuals populate, it allows me to apply and save, shows me the visuals, with 9 columns and 50 odd rows .. then boom. How is reporting it here going to get this fixed ????
