Power BI Data Mart SQL Database Connection

I am trying to set up a Data Mart in Power BI for our database. I keep getting the following error while trying to connect: An exception occurred: An error occurred while communicating with another service, please try again later. Is the database you want to connect to located locally, or is it located in another server?
