Custom Tooltip in Line Chart changes in Small Multiple

Hello everyone,

 

I have noticed that the Custom Tooltips change their behavior when I line chart is switched from a regular chart to a small multiple. I have a line in the chart with a static value for all values on the x axis (dates) and in a regular chart, the custom tooltip shows a result for each day for my measure Datum = MAX(Kalender[Date]) but if make the chart a small multiple without changing anything else, the Datum measure will only display a value where the other lines have values too.

Changed to small multiple (nothing else has changed):

Values for Datum in small multiples are only displayed if the other lines are not blank at this x value

This does not feel like intended behavior.

Hi @yamayancha 

So the result you're expecting is that if you changed to small multiple and the other rows are null, the tooltips can show that value that's not null, right? What version of Desktop are you currently using? Can you restore this issue by creating a simple sample and provide this sample to me for reference and testing?

thanks for your reply - yes, I would like the tooltip to show the value that's not null, just the way it does when the line chart is not a small multiple.

I am using version 2.130.930.0 64-bit (June 2024)

 

Here's a link to the sample model. I have filtered to just one product (pID) and a small sliver of the time dimension, this way the data points are easier to hover over to see the difference between a point where the blue line has data (then both small multiple and the regular chart will show the full tooltip including Datum (date)) and the rest where only the purple line has data (then only the regular chart will show a value for Datum (date), the small multiple will not).
