"File contains corrupted data" when opening ANY .pbix file

I've only had this problem beginning from this morning.  Whenever I open any .pbix file on my machine, whether an existing or new file, I get the same error (below).

I will also note that I uninstalled PowerBI Desktop and reinstalled using the latest update (February 2023) and the error is still occurring.

Hi @Anonymous 
If you just open PBI Desktop not a pbix file , will you get an error ? If yes , you'd better uninstall PBI Desktop in Control Panel and then re-download the latest version to install and test it.

Hi @Anonymous, thank you for the response.

When I open PBI Desktop, I get the error immediately.  The first thing I did when this error occurred yesterday was the following:

1) Uninstalled the entire PBI Desktop application from my machine

2) Downloaded & reinstalled the latest version of PBI Desktop back to my machine.

I am still getting the error; uninstalling, downloading and reinstalling had no effect.

I am actually able to load data, create visuals, models, and save files as normal although this error will sometimes pop up randomly.  I am not able to do the following, however:

1) Sign into my MS account on PBI Desktop

2) Publish anything to my organization's report server.

#2 is especially important to be able to do.  Unfortunately my organization's technology helpdesk seems to have limited capacity or specific knowledge of this type of problem.

When you sign in your account in Desktop , what kind of errors do you get ? Can you sign in your account in Power BI Service ? If you can sign in Power BI Service , you can get pbix file in Serivce as a temporary workaround .
