Dataset cannot be refreshed. The problem is with the SharePoint credentials. Credentials have not been changed. Data source status is successful. I tried to change the authentication method and the privacy level and I got the same error. Also, refresh is successful in PowerBI desktop but after republishing in the service error appears. Dear staff,   Our organization recently would like to experiment with reporting with Power BI. We already have the Microsoft 365 account. I tried to download the Power BI desktop to test it out, but failed even to sign into the account.   The following message occurred.   I also tried to sign in from Power BI web with our organization's work email but was greeted with another issue, which says that currently Power BI is not available in my countries. Hello,   I've been working with Power BI Direct Query reports now for almost 4 years now, but since the september release I'm experiencing a serious problem. It seems it does some kind of validation when opening a report in Power BI Desktop, or in the Service after publishing a new version of a report. During that validation it executes all of my queries on the underlying datasource, Azure SQL db in my case. This takes a lot of time. In PBI Desktop and in the Service it fails with a memory error. Actually it executes a bunch of SQL views, and when I put a WHERE clause in them restricting the execution time and the amount of data to return, all of them get executed. This is however not a solution for me. In the Service it does get executed only the first time after publishing a new release.   Power BI didn't have that behaviour before the September 2020 release. Probably it has something to do with the new Power Query M parameters. Hower this preview option isn't availlable for Azure SQL databases.   This dicates me to stay on the August release, and I don't want to get behind with new releases. Pretty simple thing going on, I am merging a rolled up daily stats table into a higher level table with more data about the jobs that represent those rolled up daily stats.   Here is an example of the power query going on. Tricky thing is-you’ll see the grouped rows step isn’t showing a cog because I’ve started using List.First and List.Last which aren’t supported by the GUI menu.   This gets merged into the higher level table on a single cardinality Job ID. There are no duplicates on the Job ID in either table.   Here’s an example of numbers corresponding to a job ID that are correct. ^(Child Table)   Here is an example of the data right before I expand the merged table. ^( Preview in table being merged into, showing second row with values that are to be joined.)   Literally right after expanding: The "ROP" field is the correct value from the child table. The "Hauloff" value is now incorrect with a value I cannot attribute to any calculation nor does that value exist anywhere in the joined table.    How could this be possible? I've dissected the querry inside and out. Any input on something that could be happening will be appreciated. I fear this could be an issue with Power Query at large. There is no way this could be transforming from a simple expand?   I've already tried removing duplicates.    Insane stuff, I have literally no one else to ask for help who could have an idea of what is happening here. The refresh history file from a dataflow assumes the first column is in American date format but dates are recorded in local format so in the CSV file the first column Run time contains "Invalid Date". The Start time and End time work fine.   Regards Laura GB ... View more

Today all paginated reports in Power BI service do not render and give an error "Query execution failed for dataset 'xxx'.".  The reports are in premium capacity workspace and have been running without issues till today.   The same reports, when opened with Power BI Report Builder, execute correctly.    Does anybody experience the same problem? Every time I enter the credentials for my company's SQL Server, I get the error message in the below described table. I am unsure what is wrong because the username and password for the windows authentication are correct, my domain name and user name are correct, and the database source and server are the only combination that is available. I've entered both of the domain name + username combinations and formats that are available. Hi,   Whenever I have the need to republish a report from Desktop to Service, the Service ceases to recognise the fact that I've activated the "Display report pages as tabs along the bottom of the report" pages pane option, and will revert to the new view with the pages pane, necessitating me to go into the report options and reselect it every single time I need to make a change to a report. I cannot find any corresponding option within Desktop which I'm overlooking, so I can only assume this is a bug? ... View more

Hello,   I think there is a bug in below case: I have one shared dataset in separate workspace (which contains only this dataset) Reports which are located in others dedicated workspaces are connecting to this shared dataset in live connection mode (in order to minimize count of the same datasets) Now I want to change access to these reports which were shared with end users by report sharing method So, I go to Manage Access at dataset level, where I can find in dedicated section with all reports connected to this dataset. Now, when I click any report the only thing that I will see is endless spinning icon.. Of course there is no problem with managing access to report when dataset is in the same workspace as the report. Please investigate this, because it is very troublesome when we want to have one global dataset and many related diffrent reports which are shared between users as reports.   Regards ... View more
