This bug is happening in Desktop and service. It only happens with one particular matrix. I recreated the matrix, and the error still exists. In Desktop, the matrix will refresh if I select it, or if I change to another page and then come back. If I remove the fields from Columns, the bug dissappears. I will try recording a video to showcase the bug.

If I leave a report open overnight Power BI desktop often freezes and doesnt recover. In the screenshot below there is very little processor activity. The highlighted Pbix file I am trying to work on and is is showing no activity att all. One thing to note is that the report is connected to a dataset that is updated nightly.

Hi everyone, I am using a composite model -- local source (A) and power bi dataset with DirectQuery mode (B). For source B I have created the following measure. m1 = SUM('Table (2)'[Gross VONB USD]) m2 = SUM('Table (2)'[ANP USD]) m3 = DIVIDE( [m1] ,[m2] , "n/a") Then the relationship is created in the composite model. If I include both columns of source A (i.e. Column1), columns of source B and measure m3 in the visual, it will report the following error. This error occurs on Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. I know a workaround is to recreate a new measure in the composite model to replace m3, but I would like to know if this is a bug and when it will be fixed. Hello, After I updated my Power BI Desktop to February update I noticed that everytime I refresh the datasets the sorting by column resets and goes to default. That's so disturbing that I will have to downgrade to the December update, because the January upgrade had issues in DirectQuery mode. I've tested on two different machines and on the machine with the December version there was no such issue as reseting the column sort to default.

I have a report called "ABC Dashboard" which works perfectly and the data is refreshed on a daily basis. I also have other reports with Direct Query to this dataset and used to work properly. Few weeks back, those reports (with DQ to dataset ABC) stopped working suddenly (the parts that contains data from this dataset). By chance, I had this same dataset in another project (another workspace -- import mode) which is also being refreshed daily, and when I changed the data source for those affected reports to this same dataset but in another workspace, those reports started to work properly with no issues. (I am the admin for all of these reports/workspaces -- pro license) I ran below test: In a new pbix file, when I make live connection to ABC dataset, it works just fine. But once I try to add a local model to the same file (composite model), I get below error about dataset "ABC" that "Either the database 'ABC Dashboard' does not exist, or your do no have permissions to access it...'. I have done the same thing before this issue happens with this dataset multiple times with no issues. I've been receiving this error in past few weeks and haven't been able to find a workaround. I'm using the latest version: Version: 2.111.590.0 64-bit (November 2022) I also sent the error through the Power BI desktop to Microsoft, but still nothing back from MS. Thank you

I have been using the manage permissions feature on datasets to restrict access to certain reports in my apps. However, every time I update an app the permissions reset. Obviously that will quickly become impossible to manage with lots of datasets, reports, and users. When an app updates, permissions should not reset. (From later comment) On a dataset I will select two users and choose remove access and click the two reports associated with that dataset. Their names will drop off the list and they won't have access to those reports. After I update the app later, their names will reappear in the dataset permissions with access. Those two people now have access to the reports again. I have to remove access again.

Hi! I am beta-testing the Get data - POWER BI API (Beta) for the Event Activity Log. This works fine in Power BI Desktop. But when I want to publish and set the scheduled refresh, I get an error. Error: Unable to determine the data source due to unknown functions. When custom connectors are used, the error can happen if gateway doesn't have the extension enabled. Details: Static analysis failed in gateway. gatewayObjectId:75c48ee4-247e-41a0-bc5e-6e82a3497b2c, resultCode:FailedWithUnknownFunctions Query contains unknown function name: PowerBIRESTAPI.Navigation Unknown function name: PowerBIRESTAPI.Navigation is a valid Mashup library function name format. Hence fail the operation. Can you please help me to fix this?

When you add sparklines to a matrix and try to export with current layout it brings an error message. When you remove the sparkline it works fine or you export "Summarized Data" it works fine, but training users on this is time consuming. It should work as usual. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello, I have made a slicer panel using groups and bookmarks and it works fine when it is done but when I save it and open the file again or publish it to the service the groups of the visuals disappear. Problem seems to be that Power BI somehow forgets the groups of the selection page. This problem appears on clients server but I cannot recreate the problem on my own computer. This problem occured on last months Power BI version and on latest version.

I am building a Scatter Chart, with value ($) as the bubble size variable. This functionality is fundamentally broken, as there is no way to adjust the minimum/maximum bubble size. For example, as a test dataset, I plotted the following values as sizes $1 $5,000,000 $100,000,000 with these bubble sizes, there is sufficient difference between the bubble size of the larger two values, BUT the $1 and $5M values have virtually the same bubble size. This is therefore a misrepresentation of what is actually going on. I consider this an issue and not a new functionality, as I think this makes the existing functionality (size) unusable as it is.

Hi all, I'm working to query QBO data and reciving the errors below when attempting to login. please see https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Quickbooks-Online-Authentication-Error/m-p/1375939#M587469 for screenshots Choosing yes or no on each error message has no bearing on the outcome. So far in order to trouble shoot this I've: Cleared all data source settings Reinstalled PBI with the lates version (Aug 2020) Confirmed my login works to access quickbooks on a web browser I'm running out of ideas of what else to troubleshoot and all sugestions are welcome, Thanks!

Hi, We are having issues with syncing hierarchy slicer in power bi service. If i open report in Power BI desktop syncing is working properly on all pages. As soon as we publish report to Power BI service syncing stops working. Even default selection in hierarchy slicer is not kept upon publishing. We can then select individual items in hierarchy, but selection is not propagated to next pages. Looks like something changed in logic/functionality of slicers in Power BI service that is causing syncing issues for hierarchy slicer. It was working fine in past. Syncing is still working in Power BI desktop. To limit possible issues with data source we created simple report with just one table directly inserted to Power BI desktop. Then hierarchy from Level1->Level2->Level3->Level4 was created in report and used in hierarchy slicer. Any idea how to solve this issue? Thank you. Regards, Milan

I run Power BI training and one bug that always happens randomly through the course is that the Sort By Column button gets greyed out after clicking on an item in the fields pane. The user then has to then click on something else and click back on the item to get the Sort By Column button to light up. It appears to happen more often if a visual is selected before then clicking on a column in the fields list that you intend to sort.

I am trying to create a dataflow off a SharePoint folder. For some reason I can only access the first 100 files that appear in this folder, even though there are many more that exist in the folder. There is no problem with performing the same logic in Power BI Desktop, but for some reason I can’t access any files except the first 100 in the data flow. Could you please investigate this issue ASAP and let me know what is going on? Thanks Eric

Dear support team, I have a dataflow that is refreshed manually on a monthly period. It contains several millions of records. usually it takes several hours to refresh but it works. those last days I tried 10 times to refresh it but it failed every time. this is the refresh log : ....,Error: PipelineException: Internal error DirectQueryUnexpectedEndOfStream. . Our company's users are unable to connect to Power BI via the Service or Desktop this morning. This is a consistent issue that I have made threads about before. Every now and then PBI just stops giving suggestions in the formula bar and the application needs to be restarted before it works again.

Hi, I have a paginated report with multiple pages. When the report initially runs, user can navigate between pages and everything works fine. But if a user changes slicers after navigating between pages, the report renders correctly BUT if a user then starts to navigate between pages, user gets this error. Appreciate your help to fix this! Hi, I am working on a report in Power BI Desktop which I have connected to the dataset on the service. The report keeps freezing a few times per day, it appears to happen when it loads visuals. When working on the dataset everything works fine and does not freeze (import), it only happens when working on a report connected to the dataset on the service.
