What-if parameter problem

Hi all,

a customer is trying to use the what-if feature in PBI Desktop.

They want a parameter that goes from 0 to 100k step 50

Parameter = GENERATESERIES(0, 100000, 50)

I cannot input 5050 value, PBI changes it to 5000

The same with other values randomly

is this a normal behaviour?

The same issue has been reported before internally: CRI 57162870. Please see below information from PG team: 

This is a known limitation with parameters with very large ranges. We have an item to fix this on our backlog but no ETA at the moment.

how do you define a "very large dataset"?

2000 items (as the example i posted) are too many? 

1000,500,10 are ok?

I got information below: 

It is for parameters with >1000 values. For example:

• Integer parameter, min 0 max 1000, increment 1
• Decimal parameter, min 0 max 100, increment 0.1
