Report Server vs. ReportViewer control

I am experimenting with the Report Server and everything is working fine. I have a couple of Power BI reports saved to my report server, they all open fine in the browser.

However when I tried to open them using a ReportViewer control (from the Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms.dll assembly), then I get nothing but the following error:

The operation you are attempting on item '/adv' is not allowed for this item type. (rsWrongItemType)

Is there any plan to support ReportViewer control of Reporting Services?

I need to embed as well for a demo.  Any ideas?

Power BI reports can be viewed and embedded in the latest Reporting Services preview. To embed use the /reports/ endpoint with the rs:embed=true param ie.

http://reportServerName/reports/powerbi/PowerBIReport?rs:embed=true

Yes, I am aware of this URL embed option. That works fine, however that is quite limited compared to what experience the users are used for with the Report Viewer control. Features such as printing, saving as PDF, Excel, zooming, etc. Hence I was looking for the actual Report Viewer control support.
