Published report converts date to US format

I use dd/mm/yyyy format on PBI desktop, but when published to online, that date is converted to US format mm/dd/yyyy.

This has only just happened in the last week or so. Worked fine for months prior. No changes have been made.

My default browser language is NZ, and in PBI desktop and service it is set to 'default (browser language)'. It has always been set to this.

But suddenly it has started being converted to US format. Please help!

Same. What has changed??? I thought it might have been a Chrome setting or PBI update but everything I have shows that it should still be in dd/mm/yyyy format yet my PBI online reports are showing mm/dd/yyyy.

Hi @Nalsey ,

Try the following steps to remedy that.

  • Open your PBIX file > Go to Transform Editor (Power Query Editor)
  • Select the Date Column > Right Click on Column Name> Change Type > Using Locale

  • Once you click on Using Locale, a window pops-up with the below options

  • Change Data Type to Date or DateTime and Locale to your desired locale type
  • And click on OK and apply the transformations and publish to service

This is not a solution, I can't go table by table of each report editing this... moreover it happens also with the thousands separator and whole part part decimal separator as I reported here:
