Hello,
The last four days all our published reports need 1 hour (or in some cases a bit more) to be updated from the time that the dataset is refreshed.
Note that all these reports are in import mode (most of these have a minimal dataset i.e. 3col x 10 rows) and run for almost a year now - up until four days ago as soon as the dataset was refreshed the published reports refreshed almost instantaneously.
I'm aware of "the data is cached for one hour from the time it is retrieved" from Publish to web from Power BI
but the next paragraph also states " Data refreshes are automatically reflected in your embedded report or visual. When data is refreshed for an import data model in the Power BI service, the service clears the data cache, making data update quickly"
which was also explained analytically in a Microsoft Power BI Blog from 23 October, 2020 "Updates to Power BI Publish to web for better public reporting":
"Now, we’re rolling out a change to help make data updates work better. When your import dataset in Power BI refreshes, we’ll clear the publish to web cache. The updated data for will load once the cache entry is cleared, which is often very soon after the refresh occurs. For very popular embed codes or embed codes that generate many queries, it’s still possible to take up to 60 minutes to see the updated data."
So, for the last four days it seems that something is not working properly and PBI Service don't clear the Publisht to Web Cache when the import dataset is refreshed.
