Problem: Power BI Gateway Data source can't connect MySQL

I was trying to create data source using  MySQL on Power BI 365. I have installed connector latest version 8.0.12 on server gateway.

reference download: https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/windows/installer/

I can't create data source MySQL and show error "-2147467259 MySQL: We were unable to find a database provider with invariant name 'MySql.Data.MySqlClient'. This error could've been the result of provider-specific client software being required, but missing on this computer. "

Please help suggest for solve problem.

Hi @Warunyak,

Please install the MySQL client on the machine which has on-premises data gateway run. As you install the MySQL 8.0.12, please install mysql-connector-net-8.0.12.msi client https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/file/?id=479532. As on-premises data gateway only has 64 bit version, please install 64 bit client version as well. 

Before creating a MySQL data source in data gateway, please test connection in Power BI desktop or workbench firstly if there are Power BI desktop or workbench running on the same machine as data gateway. please test connection in Power BI desktop or workbench firstly if there are Power BI desktop or workbench running on the same machine as data gateway.

I was tested in Power BI Desktop and workbench on machine as data gateway, and successful connection. And I was trying create data source in data gateway on Power BI but can't connect and still show error message that.

Solved issue:

I could solved problem already by Power BI support team in Thai.

Cause Power BI gateway On-premises gateway incorrect.
