Permissions Issue

I am trying to edit a report in Power BI Desktop, but when I try to open the transform data screen, I get an error that I do not have permissions to the underlying external data set. I am the owner of the data set and I have checked all of the settings to make sure there are no restrictions.

Hi @Belindah ,

 

Please make sure that you have the necessary permissions on the dataset. even if you are the owner, specific permissions might need to be explicitly granted. Verify that you have both read and build permissions on the dataset.

You may also check if your role membership is correctly mapped to the roles in the service.
