On-Premise Gateway refresh issue with error "DM_GWPipeline_Client_GatewayUnreachable"

We just cloned a server and all a sudden the reports were failed to refresh even after uninstalled the Gateway from the cloned server. Very bizzared was that sometimes some sceduled reports were refreshed successfully while others failed. The main error message was "{"error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Client_GatewayUnreachable","pbi.error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Client_GatewayUnreachable","parameters":{},"details":[],"exceptionCulprit":1}}} Table: XXXX"

 

Anyone happened to have this issue and on how to fix it?

Hi @dluo 

Usually, these kinds of errors are related to the gateway.

You mentioned that "We just cloned a server and all a sudden the reports were failed to refresh even after uninstalled the Gateway from the cloned server. " , can you explain it in detail ? Why you uninstall the gateway ? After you uninstalled the gateway, what did the associated reports rely on for refreshing? Perhaps you can update the installation of the gateway on the server you are using.

After we cloned the Prod server, I found that we had the same Gateway on both servers. So I uninstalled the Gateway in the cloned server while kept the one in Prod sever. All reports refreshing are relied on the one in Prod. Yeah the Gateway in the Prod server was updated to the latest version (Dec. 2022 version).

Could you please share some update on this issue?

It seems got worse those days and the common error message for the failure is:

The last refresh attempt failed because of an internal service error. This is usually a transient issue. If you try again later and still see this message, contact support.

Any ETA on when this could have a resolution?

Has anyone been able to solve this issue?

Im having the exact same problem, the file refreshes in the begining of the day (7am), and afterwards starts failing with the "gateway unreachable" error.

Note: the latest version of the gateway is installed.

I faced similar issue.

We migrated Gateway Server from On Premise to Azure using a VM Clone approach.

The Gateway was online in Azure, the on-premise server was shutdown.

But the report refreshes were failing with error message On-Premise Gateway refresh issue with error "DM_GWPipeline_Client_GatewayUnreachable"

 

I updated the Gateway to the latest version and refreshed all the shared connections and Issue was resseolved
