New Look Issue - Export To PDF from APP exports hidden pages

When using the Export to PDF function in an App, the export extracts hidden pages and pages not shown in the app. This is a disaster!!! We often have master template reports for varying security levels, this will allow unauthorized visibility to figures on the lowered security versions!

Hi @Anonymous ,

From your description, the New Look On is on in Power BI service, when you view the report which contains a hidden page from an app, use Export to PDF feature, the exported PDF contains the hidden page, right?

Based on my test, if the report contains a hidden page, when we use Export to PDF feature, there is a button "Exclude hidden report tabs" for us to choose whether to export hidden pages. You can check this button if you don't want to export hidden report pages. For more information, see: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/consumer/end-user-pdf

You have assessed this correctly.   This is not acceptable. It should not be up to the user.  The reports are hidden by the report developers for a reason.  Hidden report pages should not be accessable by users. They wouldn't be published as hidden otherwise.

@v-qiuyu-msft   This is such a large security issue we have now had to disable the Export to PDF/PowerPoint function at the tenancy level.

@v-qiuyu-msft  Wow the issue is that old.  Guess this feature is never being fixed.  It will stay permanently disabled at this rate.

Agreed, this is a terrible approach - I don't know why they would think leaving it up to the user would be okay... at a minimum, at the ownership level, we should have the ability to dictate that it should not be an option.

Amazing ! This definitely prevents us to build neat PDF from report, as tooltip pages are not designed for rendering without a particular context. We alsao have some hidden debug pages, and a version control / tech documentation pages...  don't want thousands of end-users to see this !!!
