Direct Query fails to work with Azure SQL Database

This problem is only when using Direct Query, no issues with Imported.

On Data Refresh, PowerBI complains that it cannot load the model, despite Power BI seeing the views and the data inside them just fine.

I can 100% confirm that SQL Server is 100% reachable and operational.

It is not a SQL Server or firewall or network issue.

This problem only occurs when using Direct Query, Imported works fine. Seems like a PowerBI bug.

I would prefer to use Direct Query over Imported for several reasons.

But when refreshing,

In case this helps PowerBI Team fix the bug:

The issue was supplying the port number to PowerBI. Removing the port number and letting PowerBI use SQL's default port number instead appears to have fixed. PowerBI seems to be working fine now.
