Can't open PBIX after adding local aggregation table referencing a directquery dataset (preview)

Trying to join datasets and add local aggregation tables.

It seems to work well and can publish succesfully to the service but after closing powerbi I can no longer open the PBIX file.

Also cannot download the pbix file from the service.

A cmd window opens when trying to open the pbix with SQLDUMPER in the header and the details in the error message are as follows:

Uninstall the program and try the latest version of Power BI Desktop.

Have latest version on two computers and get the same issue.
Version: 2.88.1144.0 64-bit (December 2020)

Saving versions of pbix one step at a time to verify when issue happens.

Step1.. added some local tables (including aggregation table)

step 2 added dataset

step 3 linked dataset to local tables

step 4 linked aggregation table (not yet marked as an aggregation table) to dataset dimensions

--so far so good I can save the pbix, close pbi and reopen the pbix without issue.

Then I mark the table as aggregation table ("Manage Aggregations") and set up the groupby/sums to the detail table in the directquery dataset.

It works and I can publish but when I save and try to reopen I get the error. Can no longer open the pbix.

Also can't download pbix from published version.
