Datasets on scheduled refresh fail and give the following error on the schedule refresh page:   Before the data import for XXXXXXX finished, its data source timed out. Double-check whether that data source can process import queries, and if it can, try again.   There is no error on the refresh history, it just shows failed.  It is a different table name every day.  Refresh Now works for these datasets when I try them an hour or two later.     I believe this started after I updated to the Februrary on-prem gateway.     ... Since October 24th 2022 the Microsoft version of the IBM DB2 connector returns an error on both Import and DirectQuery when working with JDEdwards on an IBM DB2 database (I haven't tried with other databases and tables). "HISMPCB0002 In BasePrimitiveConverter the SetCodePage method has been called with a invalid codepage: 937"   This goes for the Power BI Desktop October 2022 version as well as the Power BI Service. When I roll back to the PBI Desktop September version I have no errors with my report. But when I publish the report to the service, the error reappears. Hello,   Lately, we have issues with automatic update in PBI online accounts. I have 2 different reports, each has different CSV data source from our server. Almost every day the auto update fails.   During update one of the reports, PBI tries to update both data sources at once, do not know why. Additionaly, the update process sends 2, sometimes even more GET requests on the server at a time. First request is stopped by PBI during downloading the file. Usually, PBI sends requests, our server answers and sends the whole file successfully, but PBI do not use it and it ends with error anyway. We have tried to check all time limits on our side, but it seems to be OK. It is the same with small and large files.   Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.. The exception was raised by the IDataReader interface. I've created two columns using DAX formulas on Power BI Desktop, one is to calculate the number of days until a date listed in a separate column (using =[DATE]-today()) and the other is to return 1 or 0 depending on if there's 21 days until the listed date (using an IF function). The purpose is to be able to send an email alert when it's 3 weeks from the date listed. I think that I can do that with a card set to the max of the column returning 1 or 0 and send a Power BI alert for that card and use Microsoft Flow to send an email then. However, I can't get the column's formulas to update on ther Power BI Service. It updates fine each day (the "days until" steadily decreasing) in Power BI Desktop, but the number is frozen on the day I uploaded the report and dataset online. Even when I manually publish the report/dataset again from Power BI Desktop, the numbers don't update. How do I get the today() function, or any of the functions in the columns, to update on their own? Or is there a way I can schedule desktop to publish the report (if it will update the numbers) every day? This morning, when I started Power BI Gateway - Personal, it failed with the error, "GWConf has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."  I uninstalled and re-installed the application but am still getting the same error.  The Personal gateway as worked flawlessly for weeks prior to today.  I'm not aware of any changes being made to my PC but I'm using a company computer and sometimes our IT department pushes out updates without prior notification.  Where do I begin looking for the cause of the failure? Hi I'm Experiencing translation problems in PowerBI when uploading my Tabular model from SSAS v. 10.0.1.439 (compatability level 1400)   I have downloaded the latest On-premises data gateway version number: 14.16.6650.1 and it works fine.    In app.powerbi.com I have changed the settings to the same local language as have been made in the tabular model, but it doesn't translate the table names and table columns.    It does however translate the folders and the measures. Is there a setting that I'm missing. On other sql setups, there is no problem with the translation it works fine, however it is not SSAS 2017 and it is with an older version of the on-premises data gateway.       ... View more

All of a sudden all of my automatic refreshes have been failing due a message "Your data source can't be refreshed because the credentials are invalid." Nothing has changed and I don't know why I am receiving this message.    I click on Edit Credentials (Salesforce credentials) and unable to do so because now I'm receiving this message "Failed to update data source credentials: We're sorry, an error occurred during evaluation".   This was all working fine a couple of days ago and yesterday, I started running into the refresh issue. I have a model with a Data Source that is named with all lower case. I deploy the model then try to hook it up to a Data Source defined in a Gateway. The Data Source is defined in UPPER CASE. Result: there is no match so I cannot refresh.   Action: Try to add a second Data Source on the Gateway that is all lower case. Result: An error stating that it is a DUPLICATE Source, and the action is not allowed.   "DUPLICATE", at least to me, means that one item is the SAME AS THE OTHER, but in order for the model to hook in, it NEEDS lower case and does not work with upper case. Therefore, according to the model's reuirement of Data Source name, UPPER CASE named data sources do not equal LOWER CASE named data sources.   What's more, in Power Query, that same model Data Source shows up as UPPER CASE in the first line of the M script advanced editor and we know that Power Query M language is CASE SENSITIVE.   Even more, I tried creating a new Data Source in a new model and tries naming it with all UPPER CASE, and it switched to lower case. Not sure if that was because it had already been defined before or not.   So which is it? It should be consistent across the entire product set, from defining a Data Source in the model, to how it is represented in the Power Query scripts, to how it is matched to a respective Data Source defined in a Gateway.   ... We have 8 separate Gen2 dataflows but they are all showing as a problem refreshing.    Data Gateways have been updated to the latest version (3000.178.9 June 2023), refreshes have been started run manually but its not working. These have refreshed multiple times previously.   ... View more

We have been having an issue in PowerBI Service where I am unable to set up a scheduled refresh. I keep getting an error message telling me that it failed to update the data source credentials for my dataset.       The report file (.pbix) is published and is linking to a Sharepoint list, when working in PowerBI Desktop I do not have any issues manually refreshing directly from Sharepoint using Organization authentication.
