Users Cannot Load Data for Visual - Couldn't Retrieve Data

I have users trying to load a report that uses a composite model getting the following error within the published app. When I view the report in the app or the workspace it loads just fine. We are not using RLS and I confirmed they still have acess to the app. I've refreshed the dataset, confirmed a different user (who also happens to be an admin) can open and load the report. Any ideas?

Hi,

If you want to get a solution for this kind of visual data problem as soon as possible, I suggest you to open a support ticket to get direct help from the technical support team of Microsoft.

Thank you, I submitted a support ticket for the issue. It seems to be an issue just for the composite model and seems to correlate with this article being updated recently so there must have been a change.

I might be having the same issue. A user cant get a visual to load and the error is non-descriptive like what you posted. Similarly, there is no RLS and it is a composite model in the sense that some tables are import and others are DirectQuery.

I just published another report that is in Dev that is composite with Import, DirectQuery, and another Power BI Dataset all in the model. This one does have RLS and when I try to view as a user in the Service I get a similar error that doesn't have any reasoning.

This is still an ongoing issue logged on support ticket 2110220040004248. Support has excalated this to the next tier, as they were unable to solve it. It's odd, for some users I can grant them admin rights to the workspace and this fixes the issue, for others it does not fix the issue. I let support know the tikcet you references, 266081143, and it appears that is for a postgres SQL connection. We are using a live power BI dataset connection with a local pbix table extended on top of it.
