Details: When attempting to open a .pbip file that utilizes the Power BI semantic model as its data source, the operation fails. This issue prevents users from accessing and working with the file, effectively halting any data analysis or reporting tasks that rely on this particular semantic model.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Create or obtain a .pbix file configured to use the Power BI semantic model as its data source.
2. Save as .pbip, close the file.
3. Attempt to open the .pbip file in Power BI Desktop.
4. Observe that the file fails to open, and an error message is displayed.

Expected Outcome: The .pbip file should open successfully, allowing users to interact with the data model and perform necessary analyses and reporting.

Actual Outcome: The .pbip file does not open, preventing access to the semantic model and subsequent data operations.

Desktop was updated on May 21. After uninstalling the original version, you can update Desktop to the latest version and test if the issue exists. You can download the installation package through the following link and install it.
