The "between" slicer wants continuous values and apparently fills them in if they aren't there.

Hello,

originaly I posted this in "Get help" forum but to no avail. Greg_Deckler wrote "I tested this in the latest version of Power BI Desktop and it's still the same. Apparently the Between slicer wants continuous values and apparently it fills them in if they aren't there. Never noticed that behavior before. Maybe post this issue in the Issues forum."

So here it is.

In my calendar table I created column YEAR-MONTH = Calendar[YEAR]*100+Calendar[MONTH] and set the format to YYYY MM (set in Relations -> Properties, Format) - in data everything is ok, even when I create slicer with dropdown style there are only real values and its OK:

But when I change the slicer to "between" style, months go up to 100 (e.g. up to 2022 00 that is after 2021 99), example:

I dont understand it.. I tried googling for solution, setting all kinds of visual filters, nothing works.

Btw I use 5/2020 version because of company reasons.

Anybody has any idea whats going on? Is this a bug? I would like to see only available values..

Thank you in advance.

Hi @Fixo ,

This appears to be a design flaw rather than a bug.

If you would like to suggest  feature improvements, you may  vote the idea and comment here  to improve this feature. It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
