When a data column is removed from an Excel sheet it corrupts the whole table referenced in PowerBI. Since the dynamic linking pulls in new data from the excel sheet I beleive it makes sense to also remove data removed from the data set rather than requiring a full relink of that data set and all associated visualizations.
