SalesForce Authentication Kind

Our SalesForce dataflow began failing due to invalid credentials. When we go in to edit the datasource it only shows "Organizational Account" as authentication option. We had provided credentials for a specifc api user account for this specific purpose. I can no longer add those credentials.

Hi @lrs487 ,

Unable to reproduce your problem, can you show some detailed screenshots of the error ?(please be careful to obscure sensitive information)
Does this data source work properly as a dataset? Does this problem only occur in the dataflow?

Problem only occurs in dataflow. I can connect using PowerBI desktop.

@lrs487and @Anonymous  I had the same issue and was able to use the following workaround (your milage may vary):

  1. Create a PBIX file and connect to the same Salesforce account you want to reference in a dataflow. I just made a very simple PBIX file that connected to just one object for the sake of making the connection.
  2. Publish the PBIX file to the workspace where you want to create the dataflow
  3. Go to "Settings" on the datasource that was published along with the report
  4. You should see a prompt on the Settings page to validate your credentials, fill that out with your Salesforce login

At this point the Power BI Service should remember that authentication for future connection attempts. In our case this allowed us to avoid the promblematic credential prompt when creating a dataflow because it already had credentials it could reference.

Above soultion doesnt work for me. Trying to explain this problem one again here.

We are also trying to connect SFDC to Dataflow  using  non SSO Sign-In credential, By default it is taking SSO Sign in Credential

Example : my companyname is     = mycompany.com

My email ID    is    abcname@mycompany.com (This is default to use for window login also )

Common ID   = xyz@mycompany.com (Another common ID for team)

When i connect  dataflow  to SFDC it is by default takes abcname@mycompany.com (SSO SignIn) But i want to use xyz@mycompany.com

Any Help

Hope this will help to understand the pain.
