Report Usage Metrics Automatically Appearing in Embedded Solutions

Hi all,

We have a PBI Embedded solution using EM SKUs.

As of today 03/11, we have noticed that along with all of the client reports within an App Workspace, the 'Report Usage Metrics' report has also started to appear.

We don't wish for our clients to look at these statistics, however when we navigate to the app workspace, this usage report does not exist.

Has this happened for anybody else, and can it be removed so that it doesn't automatically appear in the available reports list (using the app workspace group id).

Thanks

Darran

Update, I have generated usage metrics by clicking the action button on a particular report.

Now this generates the report and brings it back in the list of reports within an Embedded sample, however there is nowhere for this report to be deleted from, as it is never saved to the workspace.

Please provide some methodology to delete the underlying report ID so it does not get brought back within Embedded samples.

Thanks

Darran

Maybe you can take a look at this document. Admin can disable usage metrics for their entire organization, admins can use the delete all existing usage metrics content option to delete all existing reports and dashboard tiles that were built using the usage metrics reports and datasets. This option removes all access to usage metrics data for all users in the organization who may already be using it. Be careful, because deleting existing usage metrics content is irreversible.

Hi @v-haibl-msft

Perfect, thank you! This worked exactly how I wanted it to.

A suggestion I would make, if possible to relay back to the Power BI team, is to ensure the unique ID of the usage metrics report gets removed after viewing, or some form of implementation to ensure the report does not get returned when using embedding APIs. It was slightly confusing as the report is not visible within the PBI service, but gets returned with the APIs.

Currently we will work on a solution to return all valid reports except for reports with the name 'Report Usage Metrics Report'.

Many thanks again for your help!
