Refresh Error when refreshing data using Gateway in on-premise Data in Access 32bit

Hi

The refresh fails when the data is in Access 32bit with the error that the 64bit Access database engine might be required. Is there a solution to this? The error is attached herewith.2017-03-15_16-58-03.jpg

If I shift the Power BI Desktop, and Office to 64 bit, then I understand there might be issues with the interactivity of office with other 32 bit softwares. And if I install the 64-bit Power BI Desktop and use Office 32-bit, then for accessing the Access Databases, I need to install the 64-bit Access Database Engine. If I do this, then other Office products will not be able to access the Access databases. I will have major issues with this, as I connect a lot of Access databases to Excel for analysis and word (for mail merging).

@Gopa

I reported this to Power BI Team internally before. And the response is as below.

According to PBI document, PBI personal gateway seem to have 64 bit version only.

https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-personal-gateway/#setting-up-a-gateway-for...

It is by design to leverage only 64 bits drivers.

Thank you, Herbert, for the clarification. I think the only alternative for me as of now is a workaround to auto generate a CSV/Text file in Access with the data and connect this to Power BI. Do not want to shift to 64bit office now and cause any unexpected issues with the other applications.
