Quick Base Connector Issues

Since PBI update, multiple PBI reports connected to our organization's Quick Base database will not refresh. Attempts were made to create a new API connection between the Quick Base database and PBI, but ultimately received same Error message:

"Unable to connect / We encountered an error while trying to connect. / Details: 'Access to the resource is forbidden.'"

Note: The key created to connect PBI to the Quick Base reflects it was last used on the date/time stamp when the attempt to connect/get data was performed in PBI.

I notice whenever attempting to connect with a Quick Base resource, that the following prompt displays:

"Connecting to a third-party service / The Quick Base connector relies on a third-party service. As such, features and availability may vary over time. We attempt to release updates when changes occur, but can't guarantee the results of your queries when using this connector."

Does this suggest that a patch is pending/necessary since the December update to remedy this issue with the Quick Base connector?

i am seeing the same issue, oddly, some of our QB apps work and some don't and throw a similar error to you mentioned above.

All worked well about a week ago pre update.

hi  @msross

it looks like a permissions problem, you may contact IT people of your organization to have a check for this.

and you could also have a refer to this post:

Hi all,

I received updated permissions to the Quick Base database, however, it did not resolve the access errors I originally encountered. After several correspondences with the Quick Base representative, I was informed of the following:

We have heard back from the escalation team and this issue has been officially labeled as a bug on our end. The Bug ID for this issue is QBE015131.
Next month this behavior should be reverted in our January release. I'm sorry for the inconvenience with this.

You can find our monthly bug fixes in our release notes here:
https://help.quickbase.com/release-notes/all.html

I will follow up on this post later in January in hopes that the bug will be resolved.

Thanks for everyone's feedback!

@msross It looks like it isn't resolved yet. I checked the release and see something similar QBE015141 that was corrected (non-admin members not having the ability to get tables) but QBE015131 is not in there nor is it working on my end.

@Watsky  - Yea, I noticed in the most recent release the similar update, with hopes that it would resolve my connector issues through Power BI. Unfortunately, like you, I had the same error showing "insufficient permissions". I notified Quick Base Support of the issue, and was informed that they are continuing to work on it.

I will follow up with any new outcomes!

@msross doesn't appear to be fixed in February's release either. 😞

@Watsky  - it's frustrating for sure. QB continues to update me, reporting "they are working on a fix", but no further progress has been made with the Support Case I currently have open with Quick Base.

I will report back when I hear something significant back from QB.

Thanks for keeping me in the loop!

Hey @msross

I haven't seen any of the releases where QB claims to have fixed it but, I just checked and it looks like they fixed it. Give it a try.
