Query vanished

Hi,

I created a Desktop report (connected to the SQL Server), then I uploaded to the Service and setup the Gateway.

All run good till today when I downloaded the pbix from Service and open in Desktop.

Even if I see all the table on the right and all data in the visuals, I have a msg saying that There are pending changes in query.

If I go to Query Editor there are no more tables, even that ones created inside Powerbi and not connected to any external sources.

No more Data sources in current file. If I take again the Data from Global Permission I need to restard all from the beginning.

How can it happen?

@Rox1971 ,

It's weird, I could not reproduce your issue. Have you downloaded the pbix file to and same server and open the pbix file on the same server? And also check if you can access sql server from the server you download the pbix file.

I'm getting this same error.

I have tried:

a locally saved copy of my pbix

a cloud copy of my pbix

and downloading the pbix from powerbi.com

In all instances, there are 'pending changes... that haven't been applied'.

If I look at the query editor before applying changes, there are no tables.

I apply the changes, all of my datasources, tables, measures, etc are deleted.

The only data left is two calculated date tables.

Power BI Team

Hi @Anonymous and @Rox1971 I work for the Power BI Desktop team. Would either of you be able to DM me your original PBIX file so I can investigate this issue?

It would also be helpful to have a little more info about your setups:

1. When was the file originally created (approximately, last week/month/year)?

2. What version of Power BI Desktop are you currently using?

3. Have you ever modified this file outside of Power BI (manual edits, TabularEditor, etc)?

4. Does the issue occur with any other reports?
