PowerBI Usage Metrics

Hey everyone,
Can you explain to me the difference between report opens and total page views and why for some users the report opens is higher than the total page views?
Also, what is the difference between report open requests and report viewers?
Thanks!

Hi, @miguel-tc27
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.

Regarding your question, here is my answer:

The difference between "Report opens" and "Total page views" in the metrics report is that "Report opens" counts the number of times someone opens the report, while "Total page views" counts the number of times someone views specific pages within the report. Changing report pages is not considered an additional view.

Therefore, if someone opens a report and views multiple pages within it, "Report opens" may be less than "Total page views." For example, if someone opens a report with three pages and views all the pages, it will be counted as 1 report open and 3 total page views.

Thank you for your answer! My question was around how can we have a number of reports open higher than the total page views, which is happening in many of the users. Also, could you comment on the difference between report open requests and report viewers?

Hey, That makes sense thank you! I think the report opens can be higher than the page views because only a switch counts as a page view. Report open requests are views of the report while viewers are counts of unique users.
