PDF Export From Desktop not Exporting Full Pages

Hello,

I posted this in the help section of the community, but I believe it is a bug with the most recent update (October 2023).

I routinely export desktop PBI reports to PDF for sharing in newsletters. Today, for some reason, when I exported to PDF, only about the top left quarter of each page is exported instead of the full page.

I have attempted exporting multiple different reports, closing and re-opening Power BI, and restarting my computer to no avail. Nothing in my report has changed other than refreshing the data. Each page is the default 16:9 720x1280 size.

I was able to successfully export from a report published to the online workspace, but not desktop. A coworker was also able to successfully export from desktop with the August 2023 update.

Link to help thread with numerous others with the same issue

Any help in getting this resolved would be appreciated!

Same problem. Multiple users here having this issues, and on different versions of the Desktop. I was able to export just fine at 8:30 AM Central today, then at 9:00 AM Central the same .pbix file wouldn't export correctly.

Hi all,

I faced the same issue earlier today while exporting the reports to PDF from my power Bi desktop version. I published the report to Power BI services and from there I was able to export to PDF version properly without having to change the canvas size or resolution for multiple pages. Hope this will be helpful to some people who are looking for a quick workaround.

Thanks

I have seen "you have to use report builder for PowerBI" for pagenated reports.  Why must I use two different porgrams to create a piece of paper with the report I already built on it.  It should allow it to print to letter in PDF when I select type "Letter".  It should not matter what the screen resolution is.  Microsoft needs to make export to PDF much smoother in PowerBI and not make me learn yet another program and rebuild my visuals aka report builder.  Everything else about PowerBI is great, it is built for a screen dashboard, but some of us are still using paper.  What you see on your canvas, should be what gets exported to PDF in my opinion.  Please work on this Microsoft.  I ended up just adjusting the canvas size and exporting until it gave me the result I was looking for.

Does anyone know if this will still be an issue if we uninstall the October 2023 update and install an older version of PBI desktop?

Exact same problem. These suggested work-arounds are not acceptable solutions. I need an urgent fix.
