PBIP Git Merge error - Invalid report document format. Invalid property identifier.

I really like the .pbip format.  I have been collaborating with another developer on the same report for several weeks.  Came across this error after merging simple remote changes from GitHub repo.  I could not open the report.  'An error occured while trying to open .... Invalid report document format. Invalid property identifier character.  line 2, position 0.

To fix the problem, I opened the report.json file and deleted the first two invisible characters on line 2 and added spaces.  After saving my report.json changes, I was able to open the report again.

Maybe you could include a 'Fix Issue' feature button that allows a user to open the report.  The feature removes invalid structure characters, etc.
