I have a couple of basic Dataflows up and running which, via the on-prem gateway and an ODBC connection, have been working fine for a week or so.
Today, I have gone to edit one and I am getting an error ODBC driver error:
ODBC: ERROR [HY000] [IBM][System i Access ODBC Driver]Key value in connection string too long.
Nothing has changed from the ODBC perspective. I also checked the same connection string in Excel and it is working as expected.
It appears to be an issue with the service only.
You may keep an eye on the Awareness.
Power BI customers editing existing dataflows that use the on-premises gateway client may see the message, "Please specify how to connect". Any changes made will not be saved. Engineers have identified the root cause and a fix is expected to be deployed by end-of-day 02/22/2021
Thank you for pointing out the Awareness page. I wasn't aware of it 🙂
I also (just) found that under the project options - setting the On-Premise gateway fixed the issue
