I just submitted a similar issue.  Getting cannot connect to model...but only on reports that I published, another member of team took over data sent and all is well.  My error message mentions something about the token expiring...I've reauthenticated many, many times w/ no success.  Hope someone has an answer to this!

Hi @3m

Please troubleshooting the issue with the following steps .

(1) Are you the creator of the report ?

  • If yes , please check your data source whether it works normally .
  • If no , please check if your license has expired or your access permission is banned by the administrator

(2) What is your data source ? What is the connection mode you connect to data source ? Import ? DQ ? LC ?

(3) Can other users open the report normally ?

(1) Are you the creator of the report ?—I had published all the ones that had this problem to the various workspaces.

If yes , please check your data source whether it works normally . If no , please check if your license has expired or your access permission is banned by the administrator—Our data source is fine

(2) What is your data source ? What is the connection mode you connect to data source ? Import ? DQ ? LC ?—SSAS Cube—and Live Connection

(3) Can other users open the report normally ?  Users could not open the reports, they got the Cannot connect to Model error message.  Another member on my team had to take over the data set, manually refresh and then all users could access the reports.  It seems to be specifically associated w/ my user account.

Additional info on what we’ve already tried:  I have signed out and back in of my office 365, I have reauthenticated (numerous times), our IT administrators have checked my id and haven’t found anything.  I have NOT recently changed my password or had any changes to my account that I am aware  of.

Thanks for your help!!

Hi Ailsa,

thank you for your response!

Please troubleshooting the issue with the following steps .

(1) Are you the creator of the report ?

  • If yes , please check your data source whether it works normally .
  • If no , please check if your license has expired or your access permission is banned by the administrator - This has been checked and all is okay.

(2) What is your data source ? What is the connection mode you connect to data source ? Import ? DQ ? LC ? - Demand Cloud - Sales Summary Cube?

(3) Can other users open the report normally ?  Yes, although one of my colleagues has the exact same issue as myself, I am to help him if I get this sorted!

Hi , @3m

Since the creator of the report can open the report normally , that means the report itself is normally . But you cannot open it , that means, either your access rights are revoked, or you don't have access to the data source, so you can't access the report . So let your administrator to check whether he remove your permission to access the report . One more question, how did they share the report with you ?
