MySQL Connection Error

Hi Team,

While I am trying to create a connection in Power BI desktop , wfter adding server ,databse, username and passwd credentials I am getting below error.

In one of the previous posts here suggested to reinstall Power BI dektop and MySQL connectors , which I did but still getting same error.

Hi @Anonymous,

Please check if you are able to connect to MySQL on Workbench which installed on the same machine with desktop. 

Please try to run the latest desktop version  2.52.4921.682 64-bit (November 2017). 

Please share desktop trace log(C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\Traces) during the time the error occurs. You can upload to your Onedrive and send the link to me in private message.

I've seen the same issue. My workaround is to use the 6.10.7 version of the MySQL .NET connector instead of version 8 or above.
