Matrix Visualization intermittently does not populate with data

When using certain filters, the matrix visual does not populate with the appropriate data.  This has happened in multiple reports.

Example:

Choosing the unit "Housing Facilities Services" populates both the bullet chart and the matrix with data.  Notice that both charts use the measures "YTD Actuals" and "Prior YTD Actuals," so I can expect that the results for those two measures will be the same.

However, when I choose the unit "Marketing and Communication," the bullet chart populates with data but the matrix does not. There is data, since the bullet chart is showing data, but the matrix just isn't showing it.

We have noticed this bug in the matrix visualization on two different reports now.

Please help!

Hi @laurajj419,

Please open the report in Power BI desktop, with same Page/ Report level filters applied, then see if the same issue occurs.

Best Regards,

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft,

I work with @laurajj419 on the Finance side and she is out this week. Finance has been creating reports for all of our organization to use. When they are not working, there are a lot of people that this affects.

We do not currently use Power BI Desktop and we create our reports directly in the Service. We have quite a few created that are not working and we use the app to share them with our organization.

If our visualizations do not work and continue to do that, is the Desktop a more permanent solution so that we create all reports in there and upload them?

Thank you,

Heather

Turns out it was an issue with having the wrong fields in the "rows" section - we are all set now!
