Matrix Row Background Bug

Power BI Desktop Version: 2.93.981.0 64-bit (May 2021)

Steps to recreate bug

1) Add Matrix visual to canvas

2) Add a dimension to column and to row

3) Format background of row and column to dark

Note: Rows do not change colour

4) Format background of value and alternate to dark

5) Change dark row background to new colour (optionally remove value and alternative)

Note: Row background changes and continues to change to other colours

Checked on two different installs to make sure this wasn't a bugged out matrix or model. Confirmed issue.

The row header will use the colors of the "background color" and "alternate background color" under the options for "values" when the rows have alternating colors. This is to sync the header color with the value colors. I can open a line of discussion with the designers to see if this can be made more clear, but there's no ETA on if/when it'll happen.

Also: if cx wishes for the row header colors to apply even if value rows have alternating colors, disable the "Banded row style" option under "Values". However it will not have the alternating color style.
