Limit on imported rows from analysis?

We are importing rows from datasets using the analysis server connection. The import can be to other datasets or dataflows.

This has been working fine until today. Now, all of a sudden, we are getting an error message saying: Error: Data Source Error : DataSource.Error: AnalysisServices: The maximum number of rows (5000000) was reached.

Has Microsoft implemented a limit on how many rows you can import from a table?

All our dataflows or datasets resides on premium workspaces.

Hi @KjellG ,

Considering this huge amount of data, have you considered using Live connect mode to see if this error still occurs?

Thank you for your suggestion Caitlyn. But we managed to find a solution to the problem.

This was probably caused by this change:

Analysis Services server properties in Power BI Premium are now in general availability | Microsoft ...

We checked the settings for the affected workspaces and indeed we found a value of 5 milion for one of the settings. Changing this to a higher value, using SSMS, the issue disappeared.
