Issue - Personal Gateway required for Azure database

Hi, why is a personal gateway being requested when accessing a sql database thats in azure. Once connected it also does not allow me to turn off the gateway option.

Status: Investigating

Basically if the report only has Azure SQL database, gateway is not quired to refresh the report since it is a cloud data source, see:

Power BI gateway personal mode to refresh Azure SQL DB data source? is it possible?

Hi, Correct. that is how I understand it. My problem is that even though this is how it is supposed to be it is not the case when I connect to my Azure SQL Database. I keep getting the gateway request/option.
