Internal Error loading Power BI visuals in Power BI Desktop after December 2020 release

Hello.  I've upgraded my Power BI Desktop to December release (2.88.802.0 (20.12) (x64)) and am now experiencing issues loading any visuals in my Power BI file that are using measures.  The error I am getting is:

Error Message:
An internal error happened due to failed runtime assertion: AccessToken must be specified... The exception was raised by the IDbConnection interface.

My data model is using Power BI Aggregations feature.  I connect to Power BI Dataflows and they are set up as "Dual" storage mode.  I also connect to Azure Synapse data source using DirectQuery.  The aggregations are based on this source.

I am having to re-install the November release in order to continue working on the file but I'd like to resolve the issue somehow so that I can use the new features of the December release.  Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi.  After some more testing, it seems it's related to Dataflow. It seems when I use import mode for the Dataflow table, everything is fine, but when I use DirectQuery mode it does not work properly.  Whenever I create a visual using a field from a DirectQuery table I get the error (as shown below).

Looking to see if anyone has any idea why this is happening? It works fine with the November release of the Power BI Desktop...

I believe this is the same issue as reported here: DirectQuery Dataflows IDbConnection error

This should have been fixed in the latest version.

Hello.  Thanks.  I installed version 2.88.1144.0 and it's been working fine since.
