Hello Ailsa, I am importing an Excel Workbook that contains a data model.

I select from PowerBI Import, (Power Query, Power Pivot, Power View.

The process runs and I receive a message saying there are some queries in the data model tables that depend on other worksheet tables, and do I wish to copy the data from those tables to PowerBI Desktop File or keep a connection to the origianl Excel workbook.

No matter what option I select, either Copy Data or Keep Connection I receive the error .

Something went wrong.  Name validation is not supported for readonly schemas, Migration failed.

Not sure what this is.

I have used another method to extract the excel data model, via publishing directly from Excel, but I was wanting a solution that allowed more flexibility in transforming the data.  For example currently using the export feature in excel, when I connect PowerBI to the dataset I am unable to transform the data or use most of the modeling fuctions.

Thanks for your help.
