How should I make a free of charge Gantt Chart in Power BI with the option of multiple dates?

I have been trying to make a Gantt Chart in Power BI to show and track the comparison between the actual project/task dates and the planned project task dates. By doing so, I can tell whether a project is ahead of planned schedule or behind the planned schedule. To do so, the chart object needs to have two start dates and two finish dates available. Right now, the free Gantt Chart option provided by Power BI does not allow two sets of start/finish dates. Other customized visuals charge very expensive user licenses.

Any ideas or hints are much appreciated!

Hi  @ELIU ,

While Power BI’s built-in Gantt chart visual does not support two sets of start/finish dates, you can create a workaround using Excel and then import it into Power BI.

Best regards.

Thank you Caitlyn. I have the two sets of dates: Actual and Planned start and finish dates available in my original data sets already. But the Gantt chart in Power BI does not have an option or a field for me to enter two different start dates or two different finish dates, not that I don't have the dates available in the data. So I don't need to import an excel again.
