Power BI Desktop's window size keeps increasing.

Has anyone else noticed Power BI Desktop's window size keeps increasing every time it's opened?

 

If I don't remember to resize (regularly?), eventually I can't see the very bottom of the window.

 

This wouldn't be a problem except that the height of the window can't be adjusted by dragging down the top title bar like every other Windows application since the beginning of Windows.

 

This is a new laptop running Windows 11 if that makes any difference.

 

Currently when I open PBI Desktop, I have no way of making the window smaller.

 

Please help!

To get around this tempoarily, I had to hide my taskbar and adjust the height of the window using the bottom edge.

 

That works for now but shouldn't havve to be a work-around.

Hi @gmsamborn ,

 

I wasn't able to reproduce your issue, is it considered to be an issue with Power BI Desktop screen resolution adaptation in laptops, and does this issue only occur in laptops? What version of Power BI Desktop are you using?

Power BI Desktop ver: 2.124.1554.0 64-bit December 2023

 

The laptop is less than a month old and the manufacturer says it must be the software.

 

Is there a reason why I can't resize the window using the top edge?  EVERY other windows app/browser has this capability.

Make sure you are using the correct version of the operating system or run power bi with compatibility. 

Based on the above information, if you are a Power BI Pro licensee, you can create a support ticket for free and a dedicated Microsoft engineer will come to solve the problem for you.
It would be great if you continue to share in this issue to help others with similar problems after you know the root cause or solution.
