Grey-Screen in Launching PBI Desktop When Using Remote Desktop

Greetings,

When in meetings with business users, I often use Remote Desktop to connect to my office PC so that I can show Power BI Desktop content (as well as other related content outside of Power BI).

When I use Remote Desktop, I am able to see and full interact with any Power BI Desktop files that I had previously opened.

However, trying to open a Power BI file that was not already opened always fails; the entire program shows as solid grey. This happends for both double-clicking to launch existing .pbix files, as well as when launching Power BI from scratch to connect to a datset.

On a practical level, this means that I can only interact with Power BI Desktop across remote desktop if I already have the files open prior to working remotely. This is particularly concerning because I'll soon be leaving for a conference (the PASS Data Summit) and thus will need to be working remotely. I fear that I will be unable to do my job insofar as it requires opening Power BI Desktop files across a remote desktop connection.

Thanks for your help!

Hi @AlanZ ,

It was strange, I simply did a test with my colleague and it worked fine.
If this is an urgent situation for you.
