Get started 'splashscreen'

Hi

I tried to post this once but it seems to have vanished - second try

Minor issue but clearly broken. When you open Power BI you are presented with the "Get started" splashscreen. Unchecking the box labelled "Show this screen on startup" does nothing. With the box unchecked, the splashscreen continues to show at startup.

I know this to be a problem on both

Version: 2.85.681.0 64-bit (September 2020)

Version: 2.86.902.0 64-bit (October 2020)

Thanks

PS Why is Power BI Desktop not an available Idea Label?!

@music43

I cannot reproduce the issue with latest version. By the way, you may submit an idea from Help tab.

I definitly have this issue on October 2020 release. It just showed after a crash/restart of PBI. When I closed and reopened PBI again to check the splashscreen is still showing regardless of the checkbox being unchecked.

I have a file in the auto recorvery, not that should impact this issue.

Does this help?:

Hi @v-chuncz-msft

I can confirm the issue also remains on the Novenber update.

Just started PBI and I see this:

music43_2-1605703103514.png

The checkbox remains unchecked yet the screen continues to show at startup.

Thanks

I also have this issue, seemingly happening whenever a new update is installed
